Has anyone else noticed the annoying habit of some Beach Road baht bus drivers who turn left on Soi 13 in order to avoid the traffic bottleneck at South Pattaya Road, leaving their passengers 3 blocks to walk from the entrance to Walking Street? I don't think their supervisors would approve.

In any case, when they do it with me on board I simply hop off the bus the moment they turn into the Soi and don't pay the 10 baht. If enough passengers did the same maybe they would think twice about taking the shortcut.

Bangkok to Pattaya (from ekkamai bus station) is 108 baht.

Just took the bell bus from swampy airport with transport to hotel 250 b.

But right beside their booth is direct to jomtiem (I believe ends at that Foodland station - 120 be.

I've been in Thailand during that interval of time and food price, as well many other thing almost doubled.

There were many 99 baht buffet restaurants, now typical price Bt 180.

Bus to Pattaya, used to be Bt 123, now 240.

I'm sure that if you look at your expenses in the back you'll find that's true.

Well, actually I have visited (but not lived) each of the countries you mentioned more than a few times, each. Norway only for business. But the others for both business and pleasure.

Without question, I believe the USA is far ahead legally and with respect to jobs (both middle management and upper management) and other legal protections on each of the dimensions I mentioned.

But, this is only my opinion. If you believe that's not true then I respect your opinion.

I meant no offense. I guess our opinions simply differ as I find many countries, particularly Scandinavian countries much more tolerant than the US. I landed at BKK around 4:30 in the morning. VOA delayed due to huge number of Chinese gentlemen and women already waiting in line. As a matter of fact it took me almost 3 Hrs to get VOA, yes it's true believe me. When there would be 500+ people already be waiting in line this would happen. Took shower followed by a few hrs sleep and headed for mongering around 7:30 in the evening. Started at Soi 6 beer bars, but only thing I saw was Tattoo, straight to Beach Road. Inquired few talents but nothing interesting, meanwhile my buddy got his partner for night which left me alone on Beach road, time was around 9:30. Headed to Walking Street without any delay.

Walking street:

As usual loud music, live band and Chinese groups with group identification flags. Since it was my first night, I had no intention of hitting a AGoGo. Straight to iBar, bought Manao Soda and took a seat just near to the entrance, time was around 10:30. Soon moved inside the club toward sea side where most of the girls were seating. Yes, as you noted the big difference is the age. A older women who has been in the business for a while which I'm assuming in this particular case ask for a amount that would stop her from working. Now of course I'm not getting into whether this particular case she will or will not. We just got to take their word. But again I do not think what she is asking to be unreasonable but it doesn't just stop there. People write stories that they get calls that the roof needs this or that and then start to wonder? I give you 35,000 baht. What is going on getting all upset. Once you start it is tough if not impossible to go back even when it is a legit request.
