Really, lighten up, adopt a more Buddhist attitude (this is Thailand after all!) and consider that all things must pass one day or another so it is not worth it to get attached to things or get bothered by things that bother you.

My advice for people visiting Pattaya:

A) look for street walkers! Some of them are extremely young and pretty. They probably get all the money themselves and they are often very sweet. You recognize them that they have makeup and are "hanging around" places. They're not only on beachroad! Beachroad is like WS an institution and the girls there are not generally all that good.

B) go to discos. Look for girls who are out with their older girlfriends, new in the game.

C) go to Soi 6. Cheap. You can just pick any girl you want no hassle what you see is what you get.

D) Stay clear of walking street and the soap-massages. Very overpriced and low quality.

I have to agree. The quality has gone way down hill on WS. But also on LK Metro, which is really sad. Visited many hot spots on both recently and struggled to find even a handful of really good looking women in the 19-21 age range who aren't chubby, loose, or marred with pregnancy markings and bad tattoos. The glory days are long gone in Pattaya.

This was exactly the problem. Instead of selecting the gems for the gogo-scene it feels like the ugliest girls of Thailand have been handpicked.

I meet good looking asian women in europe. I see good looking asian women on television. I see beautiful thai-ladies when riding the sky train. But I had a really hard time finding them amidst the big and small piggies of Pattaya. It's like the whole city is a poor illusion.

To illustrate I would like to relate an incident on soi 6 were they noticed that I was a bit intoxicated and instinctively sent the very ugliest girl among their ranks at me. She was wide as a rhino, yet flat as a field! Her pimples were so big I was not sure which one was her nose! Now comes their next move. They send the prettiest girl they have at me. A teen girl of average appearance. After the behemoth I am to be overwhelmed by her comparative beauty. It is such a scam and I really felt insulted! I am not a business man by profession but I am not a moron either and I don't like to be treated like one!

It's not about money either. That's no object for me if the quality is there. Unfortunately it's not.

Even the old scene of withered old white guys with hot young things in the malls is gone, now replaced by withered old white guys with withered old black Thai women with protruding guts who probably have a litter of kids. Fitting I guess.

For reference I visited Windmill, what's up, heaven above, silver Star, showgirls, the office, baccara and a few others that I've forgotten. Didn't see anything better than what's on soi 6 with the exception of a few coyotes and a few silicone tittied hardcore pros at baccara.

Anyone going to Pattaya can judge for themselves, this is the reality that will meet them. On Soi 6 the spectre of horror is wider than on WS. There are many young girls on soi 6 and many of them look ok but there are also a wide range of ugly women right up to outright dragons.

For reference on WS I think I went to every single gogo there, desperately looking for something to put between my stomach and the mattress. Names I remember alcatraz living dolls 1 2. I read up on the prices in general WS and just went who memorizes the names of these places? There are more decent looking girls on WS than Soi 6 simply because there are more women working WS. But the ok looking ones are sometimes not available for sex. They generally stand outside in the street as advertisement or are mamasans favorite dancers and she will not let them go. She wants to sell all the goods rotting below deck. The ratio here is one young and fit girl per 200 viewed. It is indecent!

Many of the girls in the gogos are actually not fat. This can be said in their defense. This is because they have to look alright in the dimmed light on stage. This is the foremost attribute of most of them. Many of them are however flabby sitting down and everything is always hanging everywhere.

I saw one thai-girl with silicon titties. There are russians and ladyboys of course but this was a girl so maybe it was in Baccara. However she was also flabby and did not look good in the face.

Did see lots of guys spending huge amounts of money on ugly fat girls for no discernable reason. Another round of 300 baht tequila shots for all 8 fat dancers on stage. Why not? Some guys idea of fun that explains almost everything that's happened in this once fine city by the bay.

Today guys looking for firm Asian women of 19-21 have to go off the beaten path or try their luck at a select few places.

I also saw this and as I wrote I can only explain this with them actually living there and maybe making a living themselves in one way or another on the gogo-business. I can not understand why decent clean middle age men would otherwise enjoy watching flabby and worn women in far to little clothes covering their ugliness crawl around tables looking for pingpong balls. It's just beyond me.

First two days I went probing Walking street. ...
Walking street is nowadays just old ugly ladies in dimmed lights trying to pass off as something you would pay for. It is really sad to see, there are really few customers and they try to hassle the poor souls who venture there for any sum of money they think possible.

However there are ok girls to be found on the beach stretch.

The Walking Street you describe is the exact opposite of the real Walking Street. You write that there are no pretty young girls on Walking Street. Are you fucking kidding? Did you check out any of the quality Go Go's while you were there ? Obviously not or you would have spotted lots of sexy, good looking 19 to 24 year old girls working inside. Walking Street is all about the Go Go's. I agree that the talent in the beer bars is not much. That's why I hardly ever waste my time with them even though there are occasional diamonds in the rough to be found there.

You wrote that you barfined one Go Go girl and discovered in the morning she was not very good looking, but you neglected to tell us the name of the Go Go. So out of curiosity, which Go Go was it?

I suspect you were on a tight budget and while you were on Walking Street skipped all the expensive Go Go's and hung out in the beer bars instead. Which is fine. Pattaya has many different price points. But then based on the quality you saw at the low end Walking Street establishments, you wrongly assumed that all Walking Street is like that. Sorry guy. There are some really hot young girls to be had on Walking Street. The price 2000bt to 2500bt for ST plus the barfine (600bt to 1500bt before midnight) and drinks.

As an alternative to high priced Walking Street Go Go's, Soi 6 has some reasonably attractive and friendly girls for a more economic price. IMHO this is best place for budget punters and anyone who wants a little variety. The price is 700bt to 1000bt for ST and 300bt for the room plus drinks.

I agree with you, however, that Pattaya massage parlors are a big miss. The quality is not very good. Go to BKK for all your naughty massage entertainment.

first two days i went probing walking street. the ladies here are either old or ugly. not only in the open air beer bars as when i first came to pattaya 15 years ago. back then the girls in the beer bars were mostly ugly but cheap. now every girl working in the establishments walking street are old or / and ugly. it was extremely uncomfortable and humiliating to be expected to pay for sex with a ugly lady i could easily have gotten for free in the west and quite frankly i found it a bit racist.

also i went to the castle because i wanted to see if it was a real bdsm-venue. coming in there was a 900 - bath fee for a drink and a little show. the initial entertainment was good. i can definitely not complain about the eagerness. however i could not overcome the looks of these girls. i tried to think of the exotic services they would offer. i bought one of the slave-"girls" a drink but she was overweight and looked like a pig in the face and i just wanted to get out of there. although all of them looked like shit they all professed not to know what rep001 was.

i am sorry if i have been unkind to the pattaya scene in general. my philosophy is that if i have to pay for sex at least the girl should be more good-looking than me and something extra compared to what i could pick up for a couple of drinks in europe or us. pattaya did not deliver this and the few times i payed for sex i felt like it was a silly situation. i will not be coming back. there are sexclubs in the west quite frankly pattaya didn't do a thing for me.

I've extended my stay a little, to eight nights. I'll be arriving at 10:45 p.m. BKK on a Wednesday night and staying at Galleria 10 off Sukhumvit until Saturday, where I'll then finish the trip at Amari Nova Suites in Pattaya. Based on many reports I concluded that skipping a stay in Bangkok would have been a mistake.

I concur that an ideal holiday features times in both Bangkok and Pattaya. But I favor a slightly different itinerary to manage jet lag and reduce travel time.

I prefer to land in Bangkok in the morning, and then go straight to Pattaya, arriving about midday. By the time I settle in the 12-hour time difference and long trip catches up to me and I'm ready for a nap. I set the alarm for, say, 1800 and enjoy my first night in Pattaya, but without going overboard. If I can get to sleep at 0200 I can usually sleep six or seven hours and wake up the next day more acclimated to the local time. (Especially if I get out in the sunlight immediately upon waking up. I recommend a little walk and then breakfast.) I still take a nap in the late afternoon the first few days, but this way I get accustomed to the local time very quickly.

I usually spend the majority of my time in Pattaya, where the laid back beach vibe suits me. I realize it's nowhere near as sophisticated as Bangkok in terms of cultural attractions, luxury retail or fine dining. But frankly, I can get all that back home. When I'm on holiday I prefer a "go-to-hell" ambiance and Pattaya just lowers my blood pressure.

At the end of my trip, however, I always spend a few days in Bangkok. By that time I'm ready for a changing of punting venue and seeing a different lineup of girls every night is just the ticket. I also like being in Bangkok on the last day of my holiday. The trip home is very long indeed, and in my view it's better to start in Bangkok than making the long drive up from Pattaya. I can usually squeeze in an early evening session, followed by some last minute packing and then a quick ride to BKK to catch a flight out around midnight.

I see that Mr. Kelly had originally planned to arrive at BKK about 0800. I would recommend he keep those flights, but go straight to Pattaya and stay however many days he thinks he needs before ending his sojourn in Bangkok. On a eight-day trip, I'd spend six in Pattaya and two in Bangkok.

Finally, as others have observe the Amari Nova Suites is a teensy bit off the beaten path. If Mr. Kelly has never been to Pattaya before I would highly recommend getting a local map. I like the Groovy Map, which is available via Amazon. I just checked mine and it definitely shows that hotel.

I doubt if the Buddhist Thai girls have any concept of "heathen". That is something you only see in christianity and (to some extent) in islam.

I'm excited about my potential first trip to Pattaya next month, and before I pull the trigger I was wondering. Are 5 nights good enough for a first-time visit. I'm pretty sure I could make it 3 times a day.

I'll be landing at 8 am on Thursday, so I could reasonably expect to be at Pattaya around 10 am. Anybody have a favorite place to go at that time of day?

Flying Emirates from Chicago, staying at Amari Nova Suites. Planing to get my combo Hep A /B immunization as soon as I finalize my itinerary.

AMS is a great place to stay. The staff is great and girl friendly. They will take I'd'S and call your room upon her exit or you can walk her down. AMS is quiet and out of main action noisy roads. BTW, the restaurant has great food at good prices.

The rooms are big and modern. King size bed will hold 2 or more girls. The shower can hold 4 or more! Enjoy!

Pattaya pfffff. I don't go there if I cannot stay for at least 3 weeks, but I would go too if I had only 5 days.

I am with you on that. I like to spend at least 3 weeks in LOS too. In fact I have just scheduled 4 weeks in Thailand for my 2015 trip. Longer trips afford me the luxury of shagging a lot of sexy new girls while at the same time, being with one or two long time special girls that I really like.
