I recently returned from about a 70 day trip. After reading some discussion here, I thought I would post this.

I had a lady who I thought might be a potential temporary longterm Mrs H2, so her and I went together to get some tests. All were negative. However I used the antibody test for HIV and not the RNA test. It didn't take long and I decided that she wasn't Mrs H2 material. If anyone is concerned about their lady's health, then why not consider getting her tested. Yes I know if it is a ST affair it is a hassle. Of course the tests aren't perfect due to time frames from exposure to testing, but I you are concerned...

In December I posted about a test lab which is more toward the north end of Pattaya. However there is a lab on the south end. The name of the lab is Lifecare Laboratory Pattaya. I have known about this lab for some time but never been there until this trip.

They appear to have the same tests as the other lab, but some of their tests are cheaper. I have been tested by the HIV DNA method in the past, but that test is not on the CDC web site. However the RNA test is. The CDC says that the test is good after about 10 days from potential exposure. The lab would probably tell you 2 weeks. The test cost 2500 baht from the south lab and 3000 baht from the lab on the north end. This lab is the same as the other lab when it comes to the info they want from you. They ask for your name and age. No verification documents needed.

This lab was more inconvenient for me to get to but I wanted to check it out and did go there prior to leaving Thailand and got the RNA test. I did save 500 baht for my inconvenience. These tests are not done on site, so the results can take 3 to 5 days. When I got my results back (negative) I noticed the test was done at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. If you get that test make sure you get the RNA HIV positive / negative test and not the RNA viral load test.

If you use google you can translate the site. Search for Lifecare Laboratory Pattaya. They have directions and map on their site. If you are interested in finding the lab and have problems with that, let me know and I will get a link or directions.

Even if it was possible to say, that would not mean one would not get and STD anyway. The "Bibs" are very busy right now in Pattaya. They are trying to recover income from ticket revenue they lost when many of them were called up to Bangkok to help monitor the large demonstrations. Also, keep in mind Songkran is coming up in April. I've been coming to Thailand since 1994, and I have been in Pattaya since late October. The combination of the Thai ladies asking for 2, 500 Baht for short-time, and the effort I have to put forth to avoid the traffic stop fleecing, makes Cambodia look better with each passing day I don't pay 2, 500 Baht for short time. I seem to get more realistic prices from the freelancers who work the beer bars. Not too many stunners, but much easier on the wallet. It was paradise for so many years, that I really can't whine too much. Like the Buddha says, nothing is permanent.

I go to Thailand every year. Getting pretty girls for 500 Baut is not unheard of. I have had many beautiful girls for 500. I did notice in the past two years more girls want 700 baut. Now this will not be popular to say and please save the flaming. It also depends on how you look. Your age, shape cleanliness. If you are in your 20's or 30's and good looking you can get a better deal. If you are in your 40's and decent looking but charming there is still room to negotiate. After 50, 60s ect the girls want 1000 baut or more.
