After reading a few posts on this topic, I would say the truth is "in the middle". It is true that the price has increased in the top places, in particular those patronized by Asian customers. If you see a place with losts of Asian customers, you can be sure it has an effect on the price. It is also true that it is rather recent (just to name an example, the "super" bars fixed tarif was 1500 ST / 2500 LT 2 years ago, and now 2000/3000. Well, I've never lived in Bangkok, but I think of 5,000 baht/month as the upper limit for residence costs anywhere in the kingdom. I have been to Singapore a couple of times - it was nice enough. 5000 baht won't get you much of a place in Singapore, maybe a hostel. Let's face it; the price for pussy in Pattaya has gone up significantly as a "general rule" nowadays while the value of the dollar has declined substantially against the Thai Baht. Pussy is a lot more expensive here now. All around and all things considered, however, it's still a good deal and Pattaya is still IMHO a great place to pursue the mongering hobby.

This is just MY experience and I have to qualify my comments by saying that this ONLY relates to Beach Road. And Bar Beers. (As I rarely take playmates from Go Go's.)

One thing that I will add.

When I was much younger my experience was that the rule of 'no money, no honey' firmly applied in Thailand.

Now, when I am MUCH older and uglier, I seem to get 'freebee's' with civilians rather regularly both in BKK and Pattaya with just the costs of a Thai meal for two or a couple of drinks and a little taxi money involved.

Don't as me why but perhaps I am rather more laid back and relaxed now about the whole scene.

It's not a general rule that go go dancers are getting double what they did a couple of years ago. There are about 90 go go bars in Pattaya and between 10 and 20 coyote-style places. Thousands of girls work in those bars and many are being compensated at the same rate they were in 2011. It's at the top-end of the scale that prices have risen for a few popular girls whose services are much in demand. Evil

Yes, I'm afraid that it is indeed a "general" rule that the price of go-go girls has in fact doubled within the last six years and that most of the increase in cost has occured just within the last two years. Of course there are many exceptions among the girls at the several go-go bars in Pattaya and punters will likely find the general rule more rigidly observed in the higher end go-go establishments.

Average to below average girls at the Happy Group of go-go's, for example, are demanding 2000 baht for short time which is double what they were demanding only 2 years ago. Most of them are not budging even if it means they don't get bar fined. The top stunners in these bars, that is the most popular girls, are asking even more. I know of instances where they are asking and getting as much as 5000 baht for short time. They ask that much because they know they can get it; not because they are trying to knock back the punter because they might not like him.

Even the prices on Soi 6 have increased substantially over the last two years. The cost for girl plus room two years ago, again as a general rule, was not more than 1000 baht all in. Now it is more likely 1350 all in except for girls with below average looks who are much more inclined to accept less because they need the money.

Punters can still find cheap service on Beach Road but even there the better looking girls are starting to demand more; whether they like the customer or not, they know they can get it.

The girls don't have one set price for all customers, just like all customers don't offer the same compensation to all girls. Each transaction is unique, with a myriad of factors determining what any girl or customer will offer / accept at a given moment. A girl can make two wildly different offers to two different customers in the space of five minutes and at 1. 00 a. M, she may be willing to accept a lower offer from a customer she'd initially declined a few hours earlier for even more than that amount.

A lot of it comes down to the luck of the draw. The experience of others can be a useful for getting a idea of what is normally paid by some punters to the girls, but such "price guides" are never deterministic. On any night, in any bar in Pattaya, a punter may end up paying more or less than what many consider the most commonly paid price. Whether he accepts or rejects a premium price will be decided by how much he values that particular girl's services at just that moment.

Forget the rules and ceilings on compensation spouted by a few skint ex-pats. Pay the girl what you consider to be fair and she's willing to accept. If you're happy and she's happy, then the price was right. Don't pay more than you can afford, but don't worry about what anyone else claims to pay.

But after all, how will one explain the gogo girls asking twice as much today compared to a couple of years ago if it ain't because of the overpayers?

However, there have always been guys who have had a "fixed limit" on how much there are willing to give the girls, usually an extreme low-ball figure. It's true that those guys probably have a harder time finding companionship these days in the top go gos, simply because the girls are less desperate than they once were.

About a year ago I was bar hopping on Walking Street. I wandered into yet another go go without looking at the name. The interior was red if I recall correctly, with plush seats on the walls. It wasn't very big. There were a decent number of girls dancing, topless, and a big percentage of them were porn star type with big fake tits. I took two out and had the time of my life. Looks wise, I should say that the Windmill girls hold up quite well. Not the quality of one of the better clubs in town but then again you are not getting the attitude either.
