Buy ticket and wait for bus.

Bus journey to Pattaya at about 80 kph, with several stops, including one long comfort stop.

Arrive at bus station in Pattaya.

Hire baht bus to take me to hotel.

Hotel was off WS, so baht bus couldn't get too close. Walk remaining distance to hotel dragging suitcase.

Nowadays:

Taxi from hotel to hotel.

Why don't you include your first short time to make it 5 hours then?

The bus is consistently two hours nowadays, hardly ever more. I take it all the time. The new expressway plus typically no stops at all mean a very quick trip. Taking a taxi isn't really much quicker, and the taxis in Thailand ride like coal-carts (actually all modern cars do) , so the bus is more comfortable as well as cheaper.

As a first-timer, and flying in for a weekend only, arriving late in the evening in Pattaya, please give some advice for the first place (s) (GoGo or beer bar) , where to find good talent.

Cause the good spots might change quite often, and I do not want to wander around the first evening.

I am looking at Baccara. Anything else?

Baccara is a good choice. Alcatraz did have some really good looking girls but to be fair that was a few months ago so it may have changed. There is a new place in Soi LK Metro called Chrystal club, although I have not actually been in there people I know in Pattaya tell me there some hot girls and I have seen some pictures on Facebook, very tasty.

Has What's Up changed? I knew they changed their name slightly, but the last time I was there, about a year ago, it was about the same as it has been. A little pricey, but lots of nudity, great shower shows and friendly girls.

Yes, it is quite normal, not a good idea to take the bus daytime. I recall the trip taking 4hrs +. Either leave early morning or late night. Some are still in bed when the bus arrives for pickup, Bell Travel. From the centre Bangkok to the airport. 2hrs. Once the bus leaves Suvarnbhumi airport. 2hrs to Pattaya. Waste of the entire day, I learnt this too.

For me I will like to save my money and spend for the girls. I will opt for public transport. It's not much complicated if I use. Using Taxi from DMK to Ekkamai bus station (I think it will be more or less 300bht). And catch a bus for Pattya or Jomtien (136bht or less).

If you skip to using taxi, you may have more girls from coconut bars in beach road, isn't it? LOL

If your party budget is large enough, your group could rent out an establishment (a GoGo, Soi 6 BeerBar, whatever) for several hours for a private party. That way you have privacy, no interruptions from other customers, all the ladies to yourselves, etc.- I'm not in to the sleazy GGs, but with 8 guys we could have done Windmill or Babydolls.
