When the baht bus goes down Beach Road then turns left on South Pattaya Road, it reaches the intersection with Second Road. Some turn left onto Second Road, some continue straight on South Pattaya Road, and some turn right to go towards Jomtien.

When on Beach Road, is there a way to know which of them goes which direction? It's annoying to have to get off, wait, then pay again.

Very easy based on what you just said.

If the baht bus is going to Jomtien he / she would be on far one or two lanes on the right since those two can make a right when the arrow indicates green. So if one wanted to go to Jomtien he would be at that corner or the corner across where the police box is located to go to Jomtien.

If you want to go straight or left down 2rd road you would be on the left, Now this is the key!

As you are standing there when you see the songthaw coming point to the direction you want to go. Down second or straight the driver will then pull over that is the one you take! If they don't stop their not going your way!

Another example: If I at the end of Soi 6, and Beach Road, and want to catch a songthaw to go from Beach road and turn left on Pattaya Klang when I see a Songthaw coming I point left and if that songthaw is going to turn he / she will stop! It has never failed me?

For me I will like to save my money and spend for the girls. I will opt for public transport. It's not much complicated if I use. Using Taxi from DMK to Ekkamai bus station (I think it will be more or less 300bht). And catch a bus for Pattya or Jomtien (136bht or less).

If you skip to using taxi, you may have more girls from coconut bars in beach road, isn't it? LOL

There isn't, they basically do whatever they want. Sometime the drivers will just do a U-turn or change directions at will if they do not like the pickings on their route.

I believe it's about 1300 baht for an agency like Mr T.

Not sure what the fixed rate is for the public taxi, but I would imagine less than 2000 baht as it's 1500 from BKK and less than 500 between the two airports.

For me, after a long flight, I don't have the patience for public transportation.

Excuse me, WTF are you talking about? If by "stamping" you mean "getting a Visa", perhaps you are forgetting that it costs money, about $60, requires passport pictures, and that one goes to a local embassy or consulate, or mail-in passport (not all countries allow that) , with all the associated expense and inconvenience.

Then in any case, the line at immigration is exactly the same for both Visa and non-Visa holders. Only Thai citizens have a separate line.

I think its because you can get a longer visiting period if you apply at the local Thai embassy than if U-turned up at the airport. I talked to a German guy on WS who said he obtained a 3 month visa through this method. $60may be the better deal than having to go to Cambodia on a visa run.

That's not a visa on arrival, that is a visa waiver / exemption.

As mentioned earlier, there are countries whose citizens are required to get an actual visa when they arrive. I've never seen one of these visa on arrival visas, but I imagine it's the same as the kind Americans get from the Thai embassy in the US that takes up an entire page in the passport.

This whole discussion should be in General.

Some countries allow some nationalities to get visa on arrival, ie you que up at the VoA office, with our form and photo. Usually this is anticipated through a local agent sending the necessary details. This will avoid the process of the visa at the country embassy in your country.

I use this to enter Vietnam as saves the hassles of sending the passport out. But it can be terribly time consuming if your plane or other planes arriving at same time have a lot of visa on arrival passengers.

Cost wise is the same, even cheaper as there are no courier or agency fees as high as at home.

This depends from country to country and based on bilateral agreements.

Some nationals are visa exempt and just que up at immigration with the filled form and get the passport stamped. It is a visa waiver procedure. Time wise depends on how the immigration boothes are busy and attended.

1. I can't recall a single incident of this happening. Quite often you'll be chatting with your choice of girl and the mamasan will ask 'drink for me? '. When you have chosen one, you will go to a counter and pay and moments later your girl will appear at your side. She will lead you up to the room and then as she is running the bath, there will be a knock on the door and a guy / gal will appear asking 'drinks sir? '. You can buy yourself another drink or your girl a drink but it's not mandatory. The drinks prices are generally quite reasonable though.

In my experience, I never asked for such kind of donation on demand. I had always paid, what I used thereby.

It is not mandatory to buy a lady drinks for your girl. If you are thirsty or generous enough to buy a drink for your girl inside the massage room, than you can be.
