How late are currency exchange stores open near Walkig Street? (I am arriving Pattaya about midnight tomorrow after flight into BKK.)

Off Walking Street they stay open until 10 maybe 11. There are a couple on Walking Street that stay open until about 2am. One is a travel agency on the right past the entrance of Walking Street.

As MTG said, don't exchange much at the airport. The rate is 2. 3 baht lower. That adds up when changing large amounts.

I would reconsider changing all of it at once. USD2, 000 is about 60, 000 baht. That is quite a large pile of cash. You'll find that $100 bills are much more portable.

Thanks, it is just that I am traveling with a couple of friends who have not been to Thailand before and since I was in Thailand a few years ago, they are depending on me for all these information. This is why I keep asking questions here so that I will not have any problems when we arrive.

Not sure if it makes any difference but we plan on changing $US 2000 each when we arrive and will probably do it all at once, hopefully it will last us for the 9 days were are there.

Got in from Jakarta, landed at 4:20pm. Went straight to the bus counter on the 1st floor. I caught the 5pm bus to Pattaya for 134 baht. Arrived at the bus station (a strip mall parking lot) at 7pm. Took taxi / baht bus to my hotel. 50 baht. Check in, clean up, run some errands and it's of to the beach. Met a 29 year old, tall, wide hips. She asked for 800 baht. We settled at 700 baht. In the room, shoot the photos, clean up, good service, she warmed up even more in the sack. Gave her 20 baht for baht bus and off she went. I did notice that the beach strip had new light poles put up and that some of the palm trees were removed. It is much brighter then my last visit five weeks ago. Looks like the city is trying to clean up that area. I fear the new developments might drive away some of the freelance girls. I also noticed that a lot of freelancers were starting off at 700 baht and not the usual 500 baht. I even ran across two girls that wanted 1000 baht. All price quoted were for short time. I usually get them down to 500. I know, my first girl, I did not. Oh yeah, while I was in Jakarta, Indonesia, I couldn't get onto the ISG website. A "this site is Broken" page would come up. I had internet access. And the very first time I logged onto ISG in Pattaya. No problem. What should I expect from a Muslim country.

Like other posters say, the exchange rates are not too varied once you are in town. But I do suggest to change only $100-300 at the airport if you are not carrying any baht from a previous trip, as the airport rates are lower than elsewhere.

Dude. You keep worrying too much. There are 10 money changers on every corner in all the major touristic cities of Thailand and the rate is generally the same. There is no need to worry about the minuscule difference in rate between each place unless you are changing thousands of dollars at one time.

I don't remember seeing too many money changers in Pattaya however they are everywhere in Bangkok. I am bring US$ and is just wondering if it would be better for me to change the money in Bangkok and bring it with me to Pattaya? Are the exchange rate the same in Bangkok and Pattaya? Thanks

Well, it looks as though Amex let the cat out of the bag. Thanks to Amex TR and photos, I'm convinced that Pattaya has plenty of nice girls to be shagged for good value. All those photos posted of butt ugly girls in Pattaya must be guys trying to prevent an excess amount of sausage there LOL.

Have any of you taken this bus service?

Should the Pattaya bus station be safe at midnight?

Taxis or tuk-tuks available there for ride to entrance of Walking St?

I have always taken the Bell Travel bus on previous trips but they don't have a late one.

I have taken other buses around Thailand and service was fine, just wondering about this one.

You'll be fine. The bus drops you just outside Jomtian and its on the baht bus route to Walking Street. There will be a number tuk tuks waiting for hotel drop-off and security isn't really an issue. I wouldn't necessarily plan on the bus turning up as TIT but all this means is that you'll be spending a night of hardship night in BKK.

I liked Amex's girls, but only 2 were 8s, and most were 6s, IMO. I guaran-damn-tee you that the prettiest ones weren't found in Pattaya these days, which was the original reason for this subject.

My point was that beauty is soooo subjective, there is hardly any point in criticizing anybody about their taste. Rating systems are practically worthless.

Phordphan: The 20 friends I posted photos of I met / did them all in Patts. Some other facts about those 20:

- Most of 'them came from Isaan, BKK, Phayao, wherever but they were in Patts when I hooked up with them.

- 13 of them were FLs that I paid ST B 500 or LT B 1, 000 to B 1, 500 + applicable tips / taxi.

- 4 were Soi 6 ladies that I paid total B 1, 000 + tip + maybe LD = BF B 300 + ST B 700 + tip + maybe LD. In the photos each Soi 6 lady: 1) is standing in front of the bar inside 3 Angels bar giving the "V" sign. 2) standing in a Red Point Bar ST room with her arms crossed. 3) in a Soi 6 room wearing the black pleather top and beige shorts. 4) I'm standing next to her in a yellow shirt & she's wearing a white button shirt and red skirt.

- 1 was a Sabai Dee soapie girl that my friend paid on my behalf ST B 2, 500 (I bought her a drink and tipped her B 200). I'm next to her in the red wife-beater and she's wearing the cream-colored mini-skirt.

- 1 BF'd from a BB back in 2007 when I was a newb and I overpaid (but she was pretty good performer, and first lady to ever tea-bag me) I think: total B 1, 300 = BF B 300 + ST B 1, 000. She's wearing the orange halter / tube top.

- 1 BF'd in 2013 for total B 1, 800 + LD = BF B 300 + LT B 1, 500 + LD. Her name's Tac, she's laying on my bed wearing the floral dress. I popped her cherry ass, she did as many BBBJCIM as I wanted and she swallowed.

- Yep, as long as the monger's happy with his lady Friend, everyone else's opinion is moot. Due to my limited budget, I tap plenty of 1 to 6 looking ladies, but for about ST B 500 I'm usually pretty happy with the outcome.

- I have my grading system (A, B, C.) mostly for my own amusement / memories.

- My full rating system is "Overall Value X = Face X + Body X + Service X + Total Cost Baht X, XXXX" where looks are 50% weighted, service (ie attitude / performance / chemistry) is 50% weighted and how much I had to spend on her (BF, ST / LT, incidentals, etc) determines if she was a good value overall.

- I'll concede to everybody that I sleep with many unattractive women, but I can only do so much when I'm usually paying a measly ST B 500 to B 700 and LT B 1, 000 to B 1, 500. If I had the money I'd get the stunners from Baccara, Superababy, Sensations and so on, but that would cost BF B 700+ and ST B 2, 000+ or LT B 3, 000+ because I lack game and I'm too ugly to warrant a discount on ST or LT from the GoGo stunners. And of course I would screen for the stunners who are a 10 in looks and a 10 in attitude / chemistry. Alas, those ladies don't come cheap so it's just wishful thinking on my part.

Bionicman: I slaved at my previous job for a decade and saved / invested enough to have bought my house for US $120, 000 (no mortage / rent payments to worry about). Other than my house I'm pretty broke after 3 years of being jobless and after LOS 2013 Trip 3 I will likely have to start working again if I'm to afford going to LOS in 2014 and beyond.
