Costa Rica and Panama are overpriced because of white expats on pensions I think. Locals don't pay anything near those crazy amounts (some up to $100 ST LOL!) , which I found out after visiting some of the foreigner's spots on my own then hitting up local spots with local guys. The difference is nothing short of astounding. I should mention that I was born in a Spanish town to Spanish parents (but in France) , so I don't necessarily look like a foreigner.

Let's look at those figures:

Assuming a girl in an MP earns a basic wage of about 400 baht / day and works for 25 days / month: basic wages are then 10000 baht / month.

Assume she gets about 500 baht net on average as a "tip" for extra services provided during the massage. So she then has to make 90000 bath per month to reach her goal of 100000 baht. That is a bit over 7 massages per day. It seems very unlikely to me that anyone can boast such an average. As far as I know (and experienced) a massage takes at least one hour. Even is she works 12 hours each day, that means she is almost continuously busy. A simple look at most MPs shows that most of the girls spend hours being "idle" and waiting for customers. So, either she gets more per "job" or she was indeed boasting.

Your evaluation or commentary seem quite accurate. As if that would be the case (100 or even 120k for an MP girl a month) why go-go girl should go out for 2k ST or 4k LT, better go in a MOP and earn more (being go-go girls also nicer in look and youth). A go-go girl raising 3 x ST a day / night would earn less. We know a lot of go-go struggle to get 1 score a night (other might do 2-3 indeed, but you count them on one hand per large bar) to the point the bar closes and they do some FL to make ends meet for that day. Ok, they have LD shares, but still.

I also agree, you never see a MP with no girls as they area ALL working. It is the other way round.

I think you guys are really underestimating this. Most of these girls say just the opposite. They claim they are not busy and do not make or have any money.

Most guy inflate their income an I wonder if there is a little bragging going on here. One of my favorite Baccara made no where near that. And she was pretty cute (I had western woman compliment me about her looks when they saw her). I left Pattaya a few days ago and as far as commercial quality goes is very poor. Initially bars girls from soi 7, 8 get get for 700bht. As I observed many foreigners had a local girl friend and some looks as couples.

The best looking girls was the one out of the sex business such as weiters in higher class resturants and cafes.

I was lucky to meet a lovely lady from Bangkok while she visits a friend in Pattaya. We spend a few days and went to laos for vacation. It's a very different expirence however the sex is not at the technical level as with a pro.

The area around Lk metro is very cheap. 500bht for a good room. 100 to 150 massage, excellent street food and girls quality it's demand on the ability to hunt the good ones, which includes non pro, cafes stuff, visitors etc.

So my trip includes Samui, Phuket and Pattaya. Phuket was a complete tourist trap, Samui had the best looking bar girls but the place was quite boring. Pattaya wins for price and getting quality is a matter of qualifications rather then money.

It depends what we are talking about. If one goes for top talent, the prices are commensurate. But last week in Pattaya I found the prices very attractive. The question is what we get in return.

One of the great historical strengths of Thailand has always been that once you locate your dream girl, she usually gives a nice experience, regardless of whether she speaks a word of English or not. Better than in the Philippines (IMO) , better than in any other country I have tried, mostly in Africa, where prices may be lower.

Like everything else, Pattaya has changed. But so have we who have been there repeatedly. We have become more jaded.

Still, for my money, it is an excellent place to dream a little, paying very little.

But why are you going back so many years and so far? Two years ago I went to Jakarta and always I get half of prices than Pattaya. Pattaya is not cheap at all.

Missed posting for a couple of days due to finding a rice plucker from Udon thani, after trawling unsuccessfully and having some good looking girls but with attitude.
