Thanks for the info. When you wrote Soi Marine, it reminded me of the Marine Bar. I thought it was pretty good many years ago when I first went to Pattaya. But the last time I went to Pattaya was in 2007. I went to the Marine Bar then, it was a dark and dingy looking disco, and the girls were pretty unfriendly. What is the Marine Bar like now? Worth visiting?

If you are refering to Marine Disco, I wouldn't know since disco's are past my bed time.

I don't know of a Marine Bar unless it's one of those beer bars along Soi Marine. I don't frequent beer bars either since go-go's are a much better bang for the buck.

unfortunately, the front door to that fine establishment, located on soi marine off walking street, has been padlocked now for about the last two years.

it seems that the management ran into a bit of trouble with the authorities by employing **** talent.

Being prone to kidney stones I take Madola (Thai version, I believe, of Tramadol). Have another friend back in the states who also takes it though it is prescribed medicine over there.

On the cold medicine query I'll take Tiffy or Decolgen. Both might make you drowsy.

Did you ever research what causes kidney stones, oxolates / nuts etc? And how to avoid them before they become stones eg 2 litres of water every day flushes out the miniscule crystals before they develop bigger into actual stones? Water engergises you, doesn't make you drowsy. Try avoiding stones in the first place, lots to research / read, simple remedies when you know what / how. No harm in trying natural way, worked for me.
