Newbie here. Coming to Pattaya on Jan 4th. I was wondering will it be very crowded? How does mongering scene looks like around that time? Are hotels / Guestrooms available without pre-reservation or you need to book in advance?
Thanks in advance

The responder thanked me for my message but said there were no plans to reopen at another location since this would require a Thai investor and they were unhappy with how the whole experience worked out. Email was from admin@but was unsigned. No idea if it was John or someone else.
One key element I noticed in Junior's post is the term "new manager". I'll be curious to see how things go from now on but John sounds like a tough act to follow. One of the main reasons I was planning to rely so heavily on DD during my upcoming trip was the trust built up by John over the years on boards like this one. Mongering has its risks. And a trusted manager can help people like us navigate them more safely and efficiently.

Posts: 516Anything Special Going On Saturday, December 16?
Today I've noticed an increased police presence in areas of Pattaya normally frequented by tourists.
In at least two places, the police have re-routed traffic. For example, at the intersection of Soi LK Metro and Soi Lengkee the cops are not permitting any turns, and it's impossible to drive from Soi LK Metro to Soi Lengkee. At the intersection of Soi Buakaow and South Pattaya road, the police have declared the latter is one way toward the beach. And in a several places I've noticed small groups of police and various government vehicles parked on the shoulders of the road.
Is there some holiday I don't know about? Big parade or festival?
Anyone? Bueller?

Posts: 3116The math doesn't seem to add up?
After reading the two reports one from Hatguy and Junior I'm thinking maybe like many of you something doesn't add up and kind of smells?
First time reading I though Hatguy referrence " Husband of Building Leaseholder " was a Thai? Then after reading Junior report I went back and read it again!
From what I know of D. D. I thought that like most places it is finance by a Farang and they use a Thai friend or wife to run the business along with renting the building or leasing it? So now based on the wording I would assume that the Husband of the Leaseholder is actually the Farang that started or own the business? If I'm right I heard that he was sick and that had turn the operation over to the manager who I thought was John, who I thought did a great job of running the place and certainly knew a thing or two about customer service.
When I read Hatguy report, I wonder if he isn't John or someone that has a daily hand in running the place? Statement such as " We wanted no part of it, far better for us to walk away, our sincere thanks "
With Juniors report the owner is Cereberus, my assumption and history if correct is Hell club was open by the same guy that open Eden in Bangkok. When Hell club open the first week or so the owner or founder die of a heart attack and thereafter it was name D. D?
It seems like maybe the owner came back and decided to get back into action and had a few ideas that didn't seem to fit the current structure of D. D. That has become very successful while he was gone. After reading these reports I wonder one might conclude that maybe not enough credit was given to John and the owner felt he is the founder any success comes from the original concept and not the guy running it! Its a same I wonder sometimes how some people with money ever made so much?
One thing for sure the website is secondary it is just a excuse for something bigger behind the scene? What a shame?

There is a dispute between the owner and the webmaster hence the site being offline and saying the Den is closed.
I was in email contact with the new manager yesterday as I will be there tomorrow. He confirmed my booking with the lady I had requested.
Yesterday I learned that they now have 30 ladies working there including an old favorite returning.
I have been using the Dens services since 2008 when it was known as the Hell Club and the owner (Cerberus) has always been straight with me. He is still the owner and operator of the Den.
So I expect to find that it is business as usual at the Den when I get there tomorrow. Any issues with the website are entirely secondary. The most important is that they have plenty of serviceminded ladies to tend to my every perversion.

The management there was top notch. I'm sure they'll have another place up and running soon. If I had any spare coin I'd invest in those guys.

If I bring my own laptop, are there any wi-fi hotspots in Central Pattaya where I can get decent wi-fi internet access? I am willing to pay for it (just not the huge price my hotel demands for providing this service).

Posts: 525Rip Devils den. Apparently a coup took place.
" The Usual Drama.
For those of you who care for the details, it is the usual Pattaya soap opera. The husband of the building leaseholder thought it was a sharp logo and a converted shop-house that made the brand successful- not fanatical customer service and sound management. Without his wife's knowledge he came to us with a rather. Unique staffing idea- we wanted no part of it.
Seeing how well the business was doing, he became greedy, and decided that all he had to do was drive out the people who actually built the Devil's Den and then make his own website (because he has a friend who's "good with computers" this would be easy). He would then be free to implement his staffing "solution" at the same location, using the Devil's Den good reputation, but without the Den's founders as an obstacle.
Not a very clever move, but a surprisingly regular occurrence in Pattaya and a risk for any successful business that makes a name for itself. Because of course, we all know that if you cut open the goose you can get all the golden eggs at one time. In the end, it was far better for us to walk away than to compromise the values that made the Devil's Den such a unique and progressive institution. Hijacked.
Of course, the parties using the Den name and signage now at the old LK Metro location have simply hijacked the brand and whatever portions of the business model they could puzzle together. The managers you are accustomed to dealing with have left, and unfortunately can take no responsibility for what you may experience in any business that has chosen to co-opt the name. Our Sincere Thanks.
Despite this unfortunate ending, we would like to thank all of our loyal customers. We were always amazed by the class of patrons we were able to attract, their loyalty, and most of all the genuine kindness with which they treated the staff. Providing service, and meeting even the most difficult challenges was a true pleasure and we sincerely regret that we will no longer be able to do so.

The Pattaya Devil's Den.
2009-2011.
It was loads of fun while it lasted."
My only regret is I didn't get to try it. Ah well. Beach road might have to do. Or soi 6. Or ffer other options pointed out by posters here.

I am planning a long trip to Thailand and asia and have been lurking on the forums. Finding out about Devils den I had decided that it was a must for me, but the last few days when I visited their site it did not load. Now when you try to go it you get:

So as far as I see things, Devils Den should be considered to be a no-go for anyone looking for a great, nasty playdate.
