Funny thing, I have a very big head (xxl) , and it's way too big for any Thai person.

I've been riding a motorbike for over 10 years here and never took the time to lock up my helmet and never had one stolen. Until like you the other week. I usually leave it hanging on the mirror. Done that how many times even across from Beach Road for hours and late into the night. And the helmet I usually wear range from 500 to 700 baht. One evening I parked right outside like always Big C Extra (Formerly Carrefour) had two helmet, my nice 500 baht favorite and a cheap given Mityon both weren't locked just sitting and when we came back my son said helmet is gone? They left the nice one and took the Mityon cheap shit! You got to love this place?

Planning a trip down to pats early next year. Could you guys give me a ballpark estimation on the cost for a 2 week stay?

I'm not expecting it to be over 5k US but just need a rough estimation atm.

Five G's USD, for a two weeks vacation that is more than enough! The key first is your lodging? If you got to have a nice hotel each day that eats up your money for only a few hours of enjoyment then you have to deal with that realility. But if a average clean room for like 750 baht per night for 2 weeks comes out to around (29-1 USD) 10, 500 baht = $362. 00 that leave you lots of other options which you should refer to Luvpuss and Naughty post.

Well basically the idea is to be modest the whole time. I don't drink or smoke which keeps a large chunk of cash in my pocket. I'm here for the pussy, I cn get wasted at home.

A nice hotel near the action. Prefferably tv + internet, but nothing fancy.

Planning on getting used to the local food but I'm not sure if I'll like it. I know the western stuff is expensive here. Is Maccas significantly more expensive than the local food?

As for ST or LT, I'm not sure atm. It will be my first trip so I don't know what I'll like. Heh.

If you just stay in comfortable but modest lodgings and don't go out and spend like a high roller or constantly eat in fancy restaurants (which will cause you to be thought of as an idiot by most Thai's) three G's should be plenty.

Try to get out into the country some. Sukhothai or Chiang Mai are interesting side trips and you can get prettier, less mercenary girls for far less money outside of BKK or the other centers.

Yes another newbie dumb question who the hell know what is going happen next year, the USD is dropping fast and Inflation in Thailand cost keep going up who know how much thing will cost next yr. I go to Thailand everyyear and is getting more and more expensive, my first time in Thailand back in 1998 my expense is under 80 USD a day cover hotel, food, girl and tranportation.

I really can't remember the names of the bars I went in so many, just like I can't remember the girls names. I'm coming across as if I hated my trip which is a fair assessmant of my recent posts, but I loved it and can't wait to go back, hopefully in November.
