I hear you on the Rio bit. I have no plans to go back there and before Pattaya I never would have imagined saying that. I do miss the big ass and diversity and the termas but overall everything is much better and cheaper in Asia.

My negociating experience in Pattaya was limited to LT from the gogo and beer bars. The beer bars had a 300 barfine and the gogos 500 or 600. In my experience the beer bar girls would ask for 1500 LT. You should be able to trim that some. I helped a guy out and negociated 500 LT for him once very late in a beer bar but I only managed 1200 for myself. You should be able to get less but I did not want to keep buying drinks which would have cancelled out any negociation gain. If you enjoy drinking in the bars and take you time it will help.

In the gogos sometimes a mamasan or a girl will say that they are required to charge 2000 ST and 3000 LT. All I had to say was no and it was too much and it quickly came down. I was able to get that down to 1500 to 2000 LT. The farther away you get from Walking Street the easier it will be to get the price down. A few times the mamasan tried to collect the girl's tip in advance. Do not do that. Just say you will pay her when she leaves.

If you cannot find chick in Pattaya then you are in trouble even blind man can find action here, where thing is out in the open and bar in every where just pick the one you want paid the barfine and take her back to the hotel, if you are staying at the penthouse just go to the bar don't even need to leave the hotel or if you are blind and cripple just have someone bring you the girl to your room.

Thai bars and clubs are always full (of Thais) spending US$10 for their beers and tipping dancers US$20.

That is not true for an average Thai on an Average salary, although may be true for 'rich' clubs, and it would be interesting to know how much the 'workers' get paid. Thai employers are not known for their generosity as a rule. But it is good if ill gotten money trickles down the food chain. Maybe bought up / sold country girls get their training in such establishments. Western bars cannot get away with what well connected Thai's can.

Whatever they pay don't impress me. Oprah may pay 20K for a hairdresser session. But that is not a positive attribute. Life is not all Hollywood, when viewed far from the glitz.

I live in Philippines and visit to Thailand often. Hve friends there and I do like the girls.
