If its anything like last year. Over the period from about 23 Dec -5 Jan hotel occupancy will be around 99%. So hotels will charge their peak prices and the supply / demand situation for Girls will not be great. This said as long as you book ahead for accommodation or are prepared to lug your luggage around checking a dozen places for a decent room, its not a huge problem, there will still be plenty of girls around. thats said if you are able to avoid this period by a few weeks, things wiull for sure be less frantic.

I am in Pattaya now, and will be for the next 4 months.

At present, there is lots of accommodation available, and more being built.

What the situation at Christmas and New Year will be like, is anybody's guess.

But, given the worldwide economic situation, high airfares, etc, I think those people expecting a bumper peak season will be in for a let down.

Hotels, maybe full, but there will be lots of 'room only' available.

To the seniors and more experienced with the pattaya scene - I was planning on making a trip to Pattaya and was wondering if New years would be a good time visit or does the supply demand become unfavorable for a first time visitors. I know there are plenty of girls but obviously with lot more potential customers, chances of us getting ripped of increase many fold.

Would it be better to visit in December before Christmas? Any feed back is appreciated.

I have some "Crown Skinless" which I heard were the sheerest but I can't judge as they cut off my circulation and I lose all feeling. Looking at someone's comment that they are only 35mm wide might explain that.

I would say Crown. Their motto is "the closest thing to nothing at all." But the catch is the larger part. The Crowns are 35mm in diameter while Magnums are 42mm (I just measured). I agree, Soi 6 is usually 300 bt barfine (including room) and 700-1000 for the girl (ST). LT is probably 1500, but many of the best ones are not allowed by the mamasan to go LT. I'm sure I probably paid too much, but I'd like to know what the going rate is at Soi Six....Since it was 500 Baht in 2005, I assumed it might have gone up since then, but I also believe that 1000 Baht was probably the optimistic asking price...In these times, with the USD at 30 THB, I've heard it's not hard to get girls in Pattaya and BKK down to 1500 Baht, ST...What's the going rate for short time at Soi Six?

I don't think Thai women knowingly adjust their prices for the international exchange rates, and I'm fairly new to the Pattaya scene, but I think you should easily be able to get LT for 1500 baht (+/-).

so for those of you going to be there for LOI KRATONG - if you haven't done it before, it's USUALLY LOUD!! Lots of fireworks and the occasional idiot who sets of a mortar with a short fuse and it goes up maybe 10M and pops. IF done on a side soi (like in Jomtien) it gets DEAFENING.
