Posts: 15I hope everything gets better in 7 days. I already spent too much money for this trip. If I cancel this trip, I might die(inside).

Posts: 9Thanks to All and Be Careful!
Thanks to all your bloakes for the on the spot reporting... Tiger 888, Primo Bolan, Dominos Dick, Saint Mint, DG69, Doppel One, Run Mann, Breaknkng, Redfield10, Ekspat. It was a grand help to know what's going on for real.
Be careful and get out of there. We will live to be punters another day, it's not worth getting injured!
Breaknkng, I would love to meet up with you, but it doesn't look like i will be going in the midst of this mess. In a few months, we'll grab a chang pitcher and hit walking street, i promise.

Posts: 21Please keep posting up to date information, coverage in NEWS is not good. I am planning to cancel my trip next month, but would decided next month depending upon how things are reported here and other forums.

Posts: 1778The Curfew seems over for now, Minimart is open, street vendors out, at least where I am. There is a thread about the curfew on Thaivisa, where one of the menbers has a police radio and no major incidents were reported as I read. Mainly rumours it seems.
I will get the hell out of here today. Things are too unpredictible.

Hey guys,
I just received sms from one of my girls in Pattaya stating about the spread of the the BKK problem to Pattaya and that I shouldn't come to Thailand now. Checked the forum and am shocked to learn the gravity of the situation. This is really getting worse and resembling a banana republic type case except if it prolongs for long what will happen to the hundreds of starving bananas that we are?
God help Thailand.

Posts: 523Not only 7-11's, all shops shall be closed from 8 pm to 6 am. Police is patroling and a friend told me red shirts have set fire on Big C, not sure if that info is true and what big C was meant. Could be 2nd road or sukhumvit.

Seems I spoke too soon a few days ago when I said all was well in Pattaya.
Tonight, 19th May 2010, many of the entertainment joints and bars closed at 9:00 pm. Not sure whether its an (un) official curfew or just a general sense of nervousness about the possibility of angry Red Shirts heading to fun town after being booted out of BKK. Walking Street was pretty much shut when I wandered down there at 8:30 (though a number of a-go-gos were still in business, notably What's Up and Baby Dolls). By the time I got to Soi Buakoa around 9:00 everything (including the 7/11s!) was either shut or closing (though the night market was still going strong).
I expect the real facts will emerge over the next few hours and I'm sure this will be way out of date by the time it makes the message board.
On the upside, lots of confused looking girls wandering the streets looking for a home for the night.
