Yes there is always a possibility Songkran gets cancelled or shortened in Thailand due to water rationing. I know water pressure was decreased at my condo right before I left in March. No idea if this has anything to do with water rationing or something else.

It would take a lot to shut down Songkran in Pattaya. That would not be good for future tourism every April. However, pretty sure most people go to Hua Hin to relax and not for Songkran.

I was wondering if you could provide some insight on hotels to pick? Girl friendly? Best spot closest to entertainment? Are hotels closest to Soi 6 better? Should I stick closer to Walking Street? I don't want to go dirt cheap but not too expensive.

First timers benefit from staying within 1,000 meters of Soi Myth Night, which you can find on Google Maps. That's between the beach on the west and Third Road on the east. Between, Central Pattaya Road on the north, and Soi 13 on the south. Go to the forum dedicated to Pattaya Hotels. Go back 50 pages and read forward. You'll find a handful of hotels that are mentioned over and over. Whitehouse, Areca, LK Residence, LK Empress. They are all girl friendly. Look up those hotels on the lodging web sites like Trip Advisor and you'll see what's out there.

After you've done your homework, if you have SPECIFIC questions, post them in the hotel forum.

Funny. The fake boobs and tats though are out of control. I hate what these pretty girls are doing their bodies, turning them into a graffiti wall. A couple of small tasteful tats is one thing. But what Thai hookers are doing completely turns me off. And big or small boobs are fine but fake boobs are a hard no for me. So a natural pretty girl with no tattoos in Pattaya is a unicorn.

I think being overweight gets the ball rolling on these lamentable decisions. A girl gets a bit pum-pui and seeks to distract attention from her girth. She gets a boob job so her bustline will match her hips and backside. She tells herself she's "thicc" or "has a banging booty," but she's just fat. After awhile her cartoonish curves need something more, so she gets a tattoo. . . And then another and another. At the point she's crossed the line of no return and there's no way she's ever going to look like she did fresh off the bus. Lip implants? Freaky hair color and style? Might as well. In for a penny, in for a pound. It's like joining the French Foreign Legion after high school. Even a few years living that life will age a person fast.

Central Shopping. Quality Bad. I don't buy.

Kind of applies to Bargirls on Soi 6.

If quality I buy if not I don't buy.

Lately I haven't been buying on Soi 6.

P.S. I'm not talking outrageous prices. Normal established Soi6 pricing.

After 20 years of that huge space they occupied they moved into a Smaller space. Actually looks busy now.

Hope they do well. I like them better than Pizza Hut.

Funny thing. 2 maybe 3 servers are Kind of Hot. Way Superior than anything you find on Soi 6,. I know there are Cute girls on the Soi.

I commented on Ndtvi channel Las Vegas Beer Bar will be a disaster. He said I don't know. Hahaha. It's true I don't know I just go by what I see I don't see more than 5% occupancy. Sure maybe 2 bars have customers.

I could have lied to the cashier and said I only have 23 baht. It's not only Thai with the tatts. That's a generation trait for the entire world. I don't mid tatts at all if they are done very well. Unfortunately, not the case most of the time. At least the Barbwire Tramp Stamp of the 80's are gone.

Not yet in Indonesia. Thankfully their religion prohibits tattoos or any permanent changes to their god given body so most girls are pristine. Another reason I really love Jakarta.

My buddy whose first time it was last month went to buy a bunch of food at a take away spot. Because he has a good heart, he gave the lady 100 baht tip. He came back 2 days later to buy food again. He was 5 baht short. The lady would not give him the food.

I first went to Pattaya 20 years ago and the ladies are about the same today. More tattoos and silicon now. For some people, memories are filtered over time.

If you have not been here a decade or more ago, its still amazing compared to the west. But if you had the good fortune to see Pattaya in the early 2000's or before, you too would be sad.
