Just keep in mind that not all wagyu is created equal by any means. I've learned by living in Japan you really get what you pay for and it all depends on what you want to spend. Here is the prime example. The other night I went to a restaurant called Kobe Beef Daia in Ueno, Tokyo. I may be off by a few dollars since I aways order the much better Kobe beef over wagyu but IIRC the wagyu was around 150-200 USD. Here is a photo I took in Jonisteak in Jakarta. Wagyu is on the menu for 75 k IDR which is under 5 USD and that includes a drink! Ok it's only 100g so you may need 2 or 3 of them so let's say a filling wagyu meal for 500 baht.

I ate at Kobe Beef Daia a couple of weeks ago, and brought a bargirl from Pattaya with me.

We each had small steaks, and the bill was over $100.

" In those cases I don't buy a drink for either her or for me. More typically, I will sit down and order water or Coke for me and then buy a single drink for one lady. That drink is essentially her job interview. If she passes, we will do a bar fine at my hotel. If she fails the interview, I move to the next girl or the next bar.

1. If you want a girl to sit with you and possibly go to a room, yes, lady drinks are more or less mandatory. If you don't want to drink, you can order water or a soda.

You are overthinking it.

In a bar, order a Coke. Or soda water. Buy a drink with a lady if you want to go to the room with her.

Most bars don't have ladyboys.

Note that your travel costs will be in the thousands of dollars to get to Thailand. So, if you spend $50 rather than $30 on a bargirl, it's not a Greek tragedy.

I did a couple afternoon massages (reported in the massage section) and went t a few different places at night, the places I actually stayed long enough for drinks: Cat Flaps-really nice club, friendly owner, but the girls were not for me. Windmill 1 and 2: Kind of fun atmosphere, but a lot of the girl action was kind of mechanical, I saw maybe a couple girls that I was interested in taking out, but each time I made up my mind, they were taken. Kinks: upstairs much more fun and lively than Windmill, but again saw only a couple girls I thought might be worthwhile taking out (from first floor), but were occupied. Playgirlz: definitely had the prettiest girls in any of the clubs that I visited, but unfortunately, the pretty ones were all hostesses or drink girls and DON'T go out. The ones that do go out were not what I was looking for.

FWIW my final take: Pattaya is a fun, rowdy place to have a party. Cheaper than Bangkok, but also lower quality, at least in terms of looks. Next time, I might try to find someone in Bangkok to take to Pattaya.

To make a comment like this, you would have to be here I think. Last week you were making posts saying you were here and then in other posts you were saying you were coming in March.

Here is the real scoop. Tourist areas like LK Metro, Walking street and Soi 6 are very busy these days. Other areas like Tree Town, Soi Pothole, Soi Made, Myth and Soi Boomerang are still struggling, as well as the bars further down Soi Bukao. They will have the odd good night but business is not consistent. One or two bad days for every good day. Play Girlz was completely dead last night. But a few bars, such as Maggie Mays and Buzzin Lounge are still going strong. Cat Flaps and Kinaree are always steady with the local expats and same with Soi Bonchot. While I was in Soi 6 Friday, the girls were focussing on the Asian customers hoping for a big pay day, that most farangs won't give them. There are tons and tons of ladies here and if some are hooked up with holiday boyfriends there are still plenty of ladies to go around. If you don't have a TF premium account you will find it hard to navigate as the girls are busier and won't be scrolling back looking at older messages they missed and unless you get them online and get lucky, its a bit of a crap shoot. Try to get their lines and talk to them outside the app.
