So after getting a little discouraged from some of the Go-Go bars on soi 6, I decided to walk up and down Beach road. It's around the same price in every other bars of the soi, they didn't try to scam you.

T21 , top of 2nd, dophin circle there is a hotel at the top like the Hilton. Around the circle heading down Naklua is a nice hotel! Resort starts with a A? Close to beer bar complex but nowhere noisy. Then you got Thai Garden resort across from T21.

I went up Pattaya last night and it took 30 minutes at 10 pm just stuck in traffic. I got out and walked the back end into walking street.

Ouch. Maybe I should clarify, I would be going to Soi 6, LK Metro, and WS for my entertainment, possibly twice a day (daytime action and night), and not likely within Jomtien area. At least for me (and to each his own), I've decided that for my short trip I'll stay in Pattaya by the beach to avoid all the complications. I'll just have to make that tradeoff for peace and quiet, and get that in Koh Samui after I depart. Thanks all.

Agreed Pratumnak and Jomtien are nicer in the day than Pattaya. I just rarely find anyone I want to barfine. Wongamat has arguably the best beach and hotels. I would take The Palm, or Cape Dara, seaview, jacuzzi on your balcony, over the Hilton.

I enjoyed Jomtien before, there used to be hundreds of freelancers on the beach and younger women. This week I have been to over a hundred bars around Jomtien. 90% of the women seem over 40. Ugly women will ask for 2 k ST. It was 1 am, I took one of the rare ones in their twenties with a cute face and a trashed body, she asked for 2 k, I gave her 1 k. There are some bars with good live music and it can be good for a pub crawl, or a place to take a woman to play pool. Unless you like women over 40 I can't recommend it.

Windmill 1 was packed and the doormen were charging Asians entrance fees. Windmill 2 was empty and the girls looked bored at 11 pm. Walked into a few gogos and walked out, at the lineup and cover up. I was pulled in to one gogo, other people were served draft beer. The waitress took my order and came back telling me draft beer finished and offered upsell. I just left. I am living in the past, Walking Street used to be wild, fun and cheap. Now I find it tame, touristy and remind myself that for the price of a beer and lady drink I can get laid in Africa.

Very good points. I was thinking of taking the other advice about a side hotel, but this seems to hit home. I'll keep searching to try to find a hotel I like closer by, maybe the Hilton. I can also take a day trip to Jomtien I guess.

Until my last trip the advice I was given was that it was a waste of nights to go to Jomtien. I decided to take that advice but do a trip one day and one night to see what I thought. Well, the advice I got was bad IMHO. Jomtien, or more specifically Pratumnak, is not only a LOT quieter than Pattaya, the beach is far better and the vibe is more chilled. There are still plenty of options, bars, GCs if that's for you, and the noise is far less. The trip to central Pattaya is short and inexpensive. Sure if you go on the back of a bike over that hill it can be hairy if the rider is fast! But either take a normal cab, or the Bhat bus or even walk. It's not that bad. The girls do whine about the distance as if it's miles away. It's not. Just offer a bit extra and they are fine.

Daytime in Jomtien / Pratumnak Hill are so much better than in bustling Pattaya. I'm back soon and will definitely stay in Jomtien this time.

I went to Cambodia on a bus from a visa company I happened to see. The cost was 3200 baht though the guy sitting next to me said he only paid 2600 baht. Bus picked me up at 5:30 and I was back at my hotel by 3 pm. We stopped halfway there for bathroom break and half way back for lunch. I was told I needed two passport photos but no one took them so I didn't need, who knows if other people did. All I did when I got to Cambodia was stand in whatever line I was told to and then went to next line. I didn't time how long I was there but I'd guess about an hour.

My personal stuff is I left thailand for a week after being here a month and got first extension that way and the second extension by going to immigration office. This is my 3rd extension.

All in all easy peasy.

Hello everyone. I have been to Pattaya twice in my life and really enjoyed it, especially around Soi 6. But at the same time, I need peace and quiet while not doing my business. Therefore I was considering staying in Jomtien Beach area and then taking bolt or bus to the action. Have others done this and is this common? Importantly, will girls from Gogos or beer bars come with me to Jomtien?

I spent a month last year in Jomtien to try it and learn the ropes, definitely action there just have to spend a little time learning where it is. Unless your a hard core agogo guy you should be fine. I don't like making the trip between jomtien and Pattaya a lot.

How long are you coming for? You might want to book a short time in Jomtien, to see how it works for you. I have been staying in Jomtien. At first I like it, then I soon get sick of travelling up to Pattaya. Takes longer than you think. Bolt motorcycles feel like death race 2000. My ST PSE requests an extra 100 from Pattaya and I pay it. Most girls want ST these days, and so won't want to travel far, as they want to get back to the bar. Unless it is late at night and they live here.

It is a long way from Soi6. You could stay in Wongamat which is lovely, quiet at night and easier commute to Soi6.

I'll be in Pattaya for three weeks in March (as well as 10 days in Philippines), diary incoming.

I've trawled back 100 pages but haven't found a lot of info about the new beer bar complex where Soi Made in Thailand used to be, I think it's called Myth. Any good? Does it have consistent barfine prices or is it all over the place like Tree Town?

Passed by tonight and it was quite busy, not super full but busy. Nice music, and nice atmosphere. Spotted some beauties too, but here YMMV. I just checked a bar where I had a drink and then left and the girl asked 2000 for ST and 600 BF.
