Can you just pay extra money instead of buying the drinks? Because all buying the drinks mean is that you are spending extra money. It serves no other purpose to the bar or the girl. Cut to the chase and pay the extra money instead of having pee run down your leg and pretend it is the magic potion to get the hooker.

I am not fighting with anybody. I am saying it is spreading a false narrative to say a person has to buy lady drinks in order to buy a hooker. I don't give a shit if SL and Sam corner the market on lady drinks in Thailand. It is their money to do as they wish. But to say a person could not buy a hooker that they have to pay anyway, because they did not schmooze her with lady drinks is absolutely false. I totally agree with this, you cannot be a Cheap Charlie with a top of the rung girl that is in demand. Standard practice to buy them a drink once they sit down. Investing 1 or 2 drinks in a hottie is well worth it so you can judge what your next move is.

I don't have to buy drinks for the girls and the girls rarely ask for drink in Scandallo which is considered by many with the most top of the rung girls in Brazil.

I figure it is both of those reasons in addition to not ruining peoples' livers. Imagine if you had to go to work everyday and drink 10 shots of alcohol. Also, just because they are working in a bar does not mean they are drinkers. Not everyone wants to drink alcohol. Most of the time that I go into a bar I will drink club soda. Every blue moon I will get Sang Som. I have bottles on the bar in my room in Pattaya that have sat there over 10 years unopened. Most chicks do not even drink when they come over. They prefer water.

My last day in Pattaya would prove to be a frustrating one with one of my worst experiences at a bar in SE Asia.

But first I met Sam for breakfast at a place he recommended on soi 13 called The Sportsman. I had a decent full English and two cups of tea for 170 baht.

We had a nice leisurely walk along the beach, past 'the oldest bar in Pattaya', Tahitian Queen, and had a cold beer in a nice relaxed beer-bar complex overlooking the beach. Sam then walked me around Central mall which struck me as a good place to take a girl. There is a cinema on the top floor, a bowling alley, arcade, lots of places to eat and of course plenty of shops. On second thoughts, maybe it isn't a good place to take a girl.

I had a number of things I needed to do during the afternoon and met Sam at 6. 30 pm outside Subway. We agreed to start our bar crawl on soi Pothole. I passed a lovely looking girl at a massage-with-extras place before we settled on a bar called Korn Beer Bar. Sam chose the place because he recognised a pretty girl he'd seen at Olny LK Bar the night before. He bought her a drink but when he asked about the bar-fine she told him 'I not boom-boom'.

We went to Annie Jacks next, a good bet for pretty girls. The girl I bought a ladydrink for on my first visit was with a customer but waved over to say Hello,. The big-boobed hottie I bought a drink for on my second visit was also with a customer, grinding on his lap just as she'd done with me.

Interestingly Sam had been working on a girl from this bar for a while, buying her ladydrinks, and when he asked about meeting her on her day off, she agreed. But next day she sent him a Line message saying she couldn't meet as her Dad died. Before deleting it hastily. She was in the bar and didn't look like she was grieving, she was stood at the door, smiling and flirting with men as they walked past. She seemed to be going out of her way to avoid eye contact with Sam.

It was a Sunday night and Tree Town was fairly quiet. It's worth pointing out though that although there there are less girls, there are significantly fewer customers too.

We went to at Lai and again my favourite girl was with a Korean customer. I enjoy the thrill of the chase and I'm determined to buy this girl at least one lady-drink. She might not be the prettiest girl in the bar but there's something about her I can't resist. Or maybe I'm just too easily influenced by big tits.

Sam decided to take me to a beer bar complex to the side of Tree Town, called Soi Made In Thailand I think.

We had a drink in Sweet Hearts which had a pretty girl dancing on the bar. Sam told me he bar-fined her once but she somehow got herself locked in his bathroom. He had to call a locksmith out to free her in the middle of the night and strangely she accused him of locking her away on purpose. Judging by her frosty demeanour, I'm not sure she's forgiven him!

Then came the worst bar I have ever visited, Sexy Bar.

It started promisingly. I saw a pretty girl and immediately offered her a drink. She told me her name was Arisa and then said she had to go to the toilet. While she was away, I realised this bar is a live-stream bar. During the pandemic a number of bars found a way of making money by live-streaming and having lady-drinks bought for the girls by people sat on their computers on the other side of the world. Businesses have been hit hard by covid so good on them for being creative.

But we now had a bizarre situation where me, Sam and another customer were completely invisible to the girls, as they danced, performed and raised their glasses to the webcam. They weren't even pretty girls, just an average selection of older looking girls, between 30 and 40, acting like TV celebrities.

What a sad state of affairs that real customers are ignored in favour of virtual cusomers. This bar isn't a beer bar, it's a webcam bar.

15 minutes had passed and there was no sign of Arisa. I pointed to her ladydrink and shrugged my shoulders to the mamasan. Where was she? The mamasan called her on her mobile and five minutes later she reappeared. But she didn't come and sit with me, she went in front of the webcam to continue her performance. Like all of the other girls she looked bored off camera but in front of the webcam, it was party time!

Jokingly, I picked up her ladydrink and the ladydrink bill from my cup and placed it in front of the webcam. To be fair to the mamasan, she sensed my displeasure and said to me 'it okay, I cancel lady-drink'.

What a terrible experience. Guys, if you are on a bar-crawl in Pattaya, avoid any bars that are live-streaming.

We decided to go back on to soi Buakhao. There is a stretch of lively bars and we decided to stop at Sick Buffalo. There were some pretty girls sat with customers but none of those unaccompanied floated my boat. I bought a drink for an older waitress, to put a smile on her face.

It was 10 pm and I needed to find a girl.

We agreed to go to soi LK Metro and Sam insisted we go to Sugar Sugar so he can see his girl. But sadly for me, there were no other girls inside at all. Not one. I had hoped to see Nan, the gorgeous girl I bought a drink for the night before, but she wasn't there. That doesn't mean you go without company of course, the waitresses are thirsty for ladydrinks just as much as the gogo girls and I ended up buying one for a waitress I've share a bit of banter with.

Two bars in row, slim pickings and I ended up buying drinks for a couple of older waitresses. Not what I had in mind for tonight.

There was a pretty girl outside Pandora's so I invited her to sit inside with me and bought her a drink. She had shorter shoulder length hair and a cute face. If the price was right I would have 100% taken her for short-time, maybe even long-time if we clicked, but before I'd even taken two mouthfuls from my bottle of Chang beer she asked for a second lady-drink with a flutter of her eye-lashes. It's a tactic I've noticed in some bars that girls get a shot of tequila as their ladydrink, which they can finish quickly and then ask for another.

I said 'maybe in a while' but she kept pestering me for one. She was cute but far too commercial, so I paid my chit and left. The bars were closing down when I stepped outside.

What a disappointing night. Fair to say Sunday night is sleepy at the moment but I think it was just one of those nights we chose bars poorly (especially the awful Sexy Bar).

Tomorrow I go to Bangkok and then I plan to head up Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. I'll post reports on their respective pages. Afterwards I hope to return to Pattaya for at least another week to end my trip. By that time the bars will be able to stay open until midnight I believe, which will certainly help.

It all makes sense now. My Coca Cola girl claimed she was 19 and mamasan confirmed. The bar fine for her was 600 baht, which confirms 19 is old enough for sex work. So delicious, but at that time I needed another couple hours to recover from an earlier session. Timing is everything.

Tho the further you get from the bigger centres, the looser they seem to be in caring about age limits.
