You can't blame the manager, girl had just started working on soi 6 a few days ago and was completely new to the game. It was the Korean guy who must have been telling her to get 5 shots at a time so my guess is the manager explained to her that this customer will make it right that you lost you high paying customer without telling her 'only one drink'. Hey it was fixed right away and the manager came back over ten minutes later and bought me a drink.

Now what's funny is I was having a discussion with another soi 6 manager and the topic came up on PinUp, the gogo on walking street. And I said the girls aren't dancing so they won't get many customers and he replied 'Asians will go into these gogo's'. He then said 'Soi 6 is for White foreigners, Gogo's are for Asians'. It was then I realized this was true, hadn't seen any high roller Asians in any of the soi 6 bars until I saw this Korean get up and walk out. Funny thing was he walked by the club two times seeing if the girl was free but the manager asking me to buy her another drink kept her at my side even longer. In no way am I bashing Asians with this post, just pointing out what I never really noticed until it was brought up to me. Heaven Above just reopened so now there are three 'gogos' open on walking street. The overall looks of soi 6 girls can't come close to the looks of the gogo girls, the high rollers want the hottest of the hot to be by their side.

Well most youtubers make their content by doing those walk along, they normally don't stop at a bar and then film. The signs are all up in front of the bars requiring covid tests but the ones that do ask are accepting the take at home tests that have no date written on an official declaration card that's filled out by a health worker. All bars have those temp scanners of some kind to see if you have a high temp, some bars ask for a negative test and have accepted an undated one I keep in my pocket. Have to be careful with this test because the 'biohazard' emblem on the packaging is almost all worn off. Some places do offer to have a test done for you by their staff and won't call the hotline if you test positive. Personally I don't think I'd ever take a test by a gov't health care worker for a few beers in one particular area because there are thousands of bars out there who won't ask.

I do wonder who 'enforces' this rule? Is it the police? Do they show up to the bar and ask everyone to present an official valid test? Some bars need to make X amount of money every day to pay all of their expenses which might include bribes. If the police come to their bar and scare away all of their customers the bar won't make the money to pay the bribes. So the police stay away. The rules are a joke is what it comes down too, the governor makes these new rules which affects everyone's income. There are some foreigners who just don't see the downside of doing one of these public tests, I met one guy here who just doesn't care and will keep taking them. But he was also forced to pay a 3500 baht bribe when driving drunk on his scooter without a helmet.

Well it was a first for me I must say, seeing the wild life in that big city we all know as Jomtien. I assumed it would be a tad slower but wasn't expecting it to be 'that' slow. Went on a 'date' with a freelancer who said she didn't want to me to be a customer. But in the end you must pay. Did the dinner, drinks and whatnot and got to experience what a farang retirement community really is like. It was a nice change of pace, pool games that last a half hour because they can't see the ball they are hitting, the 40 year old girls working the bar who might have been doing so for 20 odd years. You'd sit on the railing of a bar and see a hot girl coming towards you. Give her a 9 rating. Couple seconds later that drops to a 7. Closer she comes, now its a 4. Maybe its also the bargirl retirement community as well. I realized that was why the freelancer was trying to get me as a boyfriend. Setting herself up for retirement. I will admit that the beach in Jomtien is ten times cleaner than on beach road in Pattaya. My guess would also be less crime as well overall.
