Mate we believe you. It's tough in most Asian countries. Unlike in Australia there is little or no gov support for ordinary people. I don't think most guys don't believe your reports. I have been in Thailand since the shitstorm that is Covid began. The entertainment areas have been completely decimated. Has the Phuket / Samui Sandbox Plus model collapsed?

I thought it offered an option to go from either to Pattaya after the initial 14 days (though not the other way).

The sandbox is still operating and working well.

There are now some new options under a variation called 7+7, where you can spend the first 7 sandbix days in Phuket, then move for the second 7 to controlled areas in Phang Nga (Khao Lak), or Krabi (Phi Phi, Railay Beach), or Surin Thani (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao). There is SHA+ arranged and scheduled transport to do this.

After you finish sandbox 14 days you are then free to travel anywhere in Thailand.

But.

You are subject to the entry requirements of the provinces you want to go to.

This may be quarantine, or other restrictions.

Tho many recognize your ex sandbox status (with sandbox completion certificate) and waive requirements.

The problem tho is getting there, lots of flights are stopped, all buses are stopped.

So transport between regions is a biggish issue.

The last point, as an ex sandboxer who entered through Phuket, you are now free to return to Phuket and stay again.

You need your ex sandbox certificate, and a 72 hour or less covid free certified test.

There are now restrictions on domestic travel. I think you can still go from one of the sandbox locations to other areas, but you can't move from areas that are spiking in covid cases to other locations in Thailand. I think which places are off limits is changing all the time so you would need to find a site that is keeping track of all those details. I am arriving in Phuket on Sept 6th and then I plan to travel outside Phuket after my 14 days. I was originally going to go to Pattaya and Bangkok, but I may choose a less virulent place and then go to those places if it looks like I won't be able to move around. I plan to play it by ear once I get there because making plans seems like a waste of time with things changing all the time.

Pattaya and Bangkok are into deep restrictions.

But people are still out and about and their are lots of girls still there and available.
