Posts: 178Chonburi (inc Pattaya) Restrictions to be eased, probably.
All,
It appears that almost all the recent restrictions will be eased from Monday 1 February. "Appears" because the Governor has issued the order but until the amended National Rules are published in the Royal Gazette nothing is absolutely certain.
The only thing which is not allowed to re-open is chicken (and other animal) fighting arenas. You'll just have to "choke the chicken" in the privacy of your own abode, if that's your thing.
Bars and other entertainment venues may open until 11 pm, restaurants can serve alcohol (to 11 pm), permits no longer required to travel out of the province. Dancing is not permitted (does the "chrome pole shuffle" count as dancing? Discuss). Convenience stores must close between 11 pm and 5 am. National licencing laws are likely to be applied for sales of alcohol from shops (11:00 - 14:00, 17:00 - 23:00).

The article is NOT referring to the requirement for arrivals from overseas to quarantine at state approved facilities. That requirement stays in force and is likely to do so for quite some time.

Posts: 492Can someone post some old stories of pattaya night fun please.
My last good time there was the day before they closed the bars.
I was in Phuket before and heading home bc of covid worries. I got to pattaya about 2 in the afternoon. Went to hotel in Nakula, I like that area. After checking in I went to soi 6 and right off the bat I found a beauty. Bought her a drink to meet her a bit then upstairs. She was early 20's with no baby damage and good body. It was a fun 30 minutes. I paid 300 baht and either 1200 or 1000 to girl.
Usually I am not up for a second round soon but it had been a while. I found a second girl a bit later but she was not very memorable. .
After that I just walked about visiting beer bars. There was a kind of sleezy gogo bar in soi 7 or 8 that I liked so went there.
And I played various games with bar girls the rest of the night.
Anyway nothing new here, I just miss Thailand and wanted to post something about why pattaya was so much fun.

From my own experience, I have a number of Bangkok Bank accounts my original book once has a few million since I've open other accounts and had money from the original put into other accounts. A few years back I had even forgotten I had this account it only had 2-3 thousand baht prior I never saw them take anything out for service charge? One day while updating my other books using the machine outside the bank after the update I noticed interest thereafter a tax on that interest followed by a 250 baht charge was taken out each month for service charge until they couldn't take 250 any longer thereafter it was 50 baht until it was zero. I believe some point back they decided if it dropped to a particular level they would start charging, to be honest, I noticed this only to be for foreigners.
I have one other book it has been sitting at 5000 baht for a year I've not noticed any deduction for maintenance yet it was just updated and got taxed on the interest. I ask my wife and son with their books you get any tax taken out for your interest when I look NO!
I think with the amount of DD account it won't be closed but I did offer if he was scared he was going to lose it give me a PM?

Posts: 3116Until you see it in print and announced it officially I wouldn't read too much into it! Three days ago it was reported by a leading Thai researcher that it is too early to allow those into Thailand even if they had the vaccine since there isn't enough data yet which I agree to early Thailand likes to follow as soon as reports start to come out from the outside the vaccine is starting to work and the numbers are reducing it might happen when is anyone guesses? But it was still suggested that the 14-day quarantine still be required.
This article is nothing official just an opinion and suggestion from someone in charge of the TAT, who is suggesting that they allow anyone in that has a vaccine passport it would help with the tourist arriving and help save the economy. These guys who get up daily and make a statement have no actual power to make the decision final but in this case, I'm at least glad it was brought up. Even if it is accepted the suggestion points toward the 3rd quarter of this year which will make it just before the high season? It is anyone's guess some officials think it can be done by Songkran?
They have approved the AstraZ, particularly for private hospitals to purchase on their own based on everything my feeling is if a vaccine passport is approved in Thailand it would be that vaccine since the K--g company will be producing it.
As for Chon Buri and Pattaya there is a report that he is easing the restriction and as early as Saturday bars etc should be allowed to open but restriction still in place restaurant will be allowed to open until 11 pm same with bars? If true not much fun if you got to stop drinking and eating by 11 pm. Today on the Darkside I noticed all the massage shops were opened cleaning getting ready for their customers same for the gyms and martial arts studios. It is all a crap shoot?

Businesses in Pattaya and the local office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand were working together to promote the city's tourism, especially during the Songkran Festival in April this year when the pandemic is expected to significantly recede, he said.
Pattaya would also be re- branded with a focus on daytime activities, said Mr Phisut.
Meanwhile, Chon Buri governor Pakarathorn Thianchai said he had informed the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) of the province's recent zero case status.
Therefore, the easing of re- strictions in Chon Buri can be expected soon, he said. ".
