The problem is that the 1% would very soon become 10%, 20%, 30%, and so on, if the authorities would not fuck the lives of the 99%. Or if a significant part of the 99% does not want to listen to the authorities, which is exactly what is happening in the USA and many other places.

The lockdowns were the exact right thing to do not only to avoid overwhelming hospitals and tie up the time and attention of medical staff to the point where your garden variety heart attack patient and motorcycle accident casualty would laguish in the halls outside of the ER until they were added to the death ranks but also in order to buy time to learn how to treat it and reduce the death rates for all ages and physical conditions.

Anyone reading this who needs to be hospitalized for Covid today will be given treatment and drugs they might not have been given last March or April, even moved into a particular position on the bed that could very well mean the difference between dying 5 days from now or 25 years from now.

It requires time and, forgive the pun, breathing room to learn those things.

And if you ARE reading this today instead of being 8 months dead already after waiting in a 10 hour queue at your local ER before anyone knew what the fuck to do about this novel virus to prolong life rather than end it you might want to give thanks to the authorites who had the gonads to demand a lockdown for the pleasure.

Now they are learning about a more infectious variant that might be much more harmful to people not in the first 1% or 10% that the original coronavirus version effected, perhaps young children. Or might not. Only time will tell. But I vote for learning more about it with just 50% of hospital beds filled with case studies to learn from during some degree of lockdown rather than with 100% of them filled and a 4 day gueue unable to be admitted and tended to at all just so I can pick up a loaf of bread at 7-11 at 2 am instead of only before 10 pm.

A full lockdown will only slow down the spread of the COVID virus in hopes that the hospitals aren't overwhelmed like in so many countries. Lockdown will not stop the virus. 100% buy in from every person will stop the virus.

Saw 2 old farang ladies and a older farang man arguing with security today at Central Pattaya because all 3 had their masks off. Just being total cunts of course, acting that because they lived longer than others they earned the right to go without a mask. I'm not scared of covid but its just basic decency to wear a mask going into a mall where its mandatory on the first day of semi-lockdown.

The narrative is biased from the beginning. The virus is spread all around the world and it's not face masks, vaccines or any totalitarian government response that will eradicate it. The virus will not disappear and these lockdowns will be extended as long as they can enforce them. It's completely illogical to fuck lives of 99 % of the population to save 1% so the problem has nothing to do with that virus but they are trying to implement something else on the global population.

Why not stop planes flying altogether? Why allow elite sports? Why allow newspapers to be printed?

Pattaya now on full lockdown, everything closed including Central. Restaurants are takeout only. It sucks but I'd prefer they shut down now and its over in a few weeks vs 3 months again.

No Pattaya curfew, but shit getting serious. Chonburi Public Heath Office advising people to monitor their health if they went to H&M in Terminal 21, Duck Club on WS, Glass house in Na Jomtien and a bunch of other places. There are 108 confirmed cases of local transmission of Covid 19 in Chonburi. The total number of Chonburi is now reached 144. They've released three different timelines this evening to warn people.

Bangkok is still open, it depends on the district and the local police's interpretation of the rules. Nana Plaza go-go bars are closed, pubs are open and Soi Cowboy all go-go bars are open. (still dead with few tourists).

Revision made today non-essentials all shutdown, 7/11 is to close at 10:00 pm! Can go to the Bangkok Post links to get details. Just came back from the market on the Darkside all the bars and GC are closed.

Yes you are correct it isn't the " same " as Bangkok the word I should have used from what I read in the article was " similar " The big difference is Bangkok is completely closed which in Pattaya since the bar and GoGo close well beyond Midnight the announcement is for them to close by Midnight also stating only food and drink can be served although stated there is no ban on alcohol. It also stated a timeline for these restrictions JAN 4TH same as Bangkok!
