I read this story interesting? Maybe why Oxford is the first to be ahead in finding a vaccine? As for Xi, the wrong guy no lost.

Also, the Government getting ready if not already to announce officially EXTENSION OF AMNESTY until Sept 26th.

Quick, fast, good, and a bit expensive I would go to German Dental it is located on Thappaya Road. I had one last done 3 years ago for one of my crown molars which they put in just under 5 years. They drilled a small hole in the middle to save the crown and did the procedure the cost was near 20,000 baht.

You can also try Dental Idea, on Pattaya Klang up from Big see extra, just a bit past Foodland on the same side.

Good Idea to Book an August Trip?

Normally my counsel would be to read previous posts discussing this. But it would appear that in all the pages of this forum there isn't a SINGLE post containing informed speculation on when the Thai government might relax the current ban on visitors from outside the kingdom. So naturally, Mr. "Jrealyo," who has all of 14 posts to his credit, asks guidance.

Here is my opinion. Booking a trip in August is *SO* worth it, dude. Every indication is that the Thai government will totally open the borders in the next 10 days. This is such a no-brainer that Mr. "Jrealyo" should book an airline ticket that is not refundable and not changeable. That way, he'll get the best possible deal on airfare. Perhaps even first class or business class. With regard to his lodging, he should pay for that in advance as well. I recommend booking a five-star hotel and paying the full rack rate in advance. As for method of payment, he should use something that will make it almost impossible to reverse the transaction. Perhaps a Western Union transfer to a Nigerian booking agent. Finally, he should immediately get on Thai Friendly and start sponsoring some girls with generous cash payments -- again by wire transfer. After all, it's absolutely certain that he'll be in the Land of Smiles in about 10 days. There is *NOTHING* to read in this forum suggesting caution is in order. To the contrary, he should shell out his cash now, the better to guarantee a GREAT holiday when the Thai government opens the borders in 10 days time.

Oh, and Mr. "Jrealyo" should be sure to post a detailed trip report of his holiday in Thailand in August.

In the post-crisis period, Thailand won't exactly be teeming with regular employment opportunities for blatantly obvious bargirls with zero useful skills and the work habits of getting 2 k baht for 30 min of laying on their back. Some might go upcountry due to no customers, but I bet most will be back in Pattaya once the tourists are back. Unfortunately, the scene went down the drain long before Covid, and won't be any better afterwards.
I would do anything right now for a not nice not sweet blatantly obvious Thai bargirl with zero useful skills and the work habits of getting 2 k baht for 30 min of laying on her back!

    Taboo

Taboo on Walking Street just opened up. Went in for a drink. It should be a taboo itself from the emptiness and talent there. Scary.

    BB,

It's not a done deal but that was one of the proposals from 1 August. The link to the Bangkok Post article is in the original post on General Reports thread.

I had read in the Bangkok Post that 50,000 international incoming flight passengers were allowed entry to Thailand recently and 30,000 of them were using that "medical tourism" exception. There was no mention of how big or how small the planned medical procedure had to be to qualify. Flights from where or whether or not those flights were cancelled at the last minute, I have no idea. Luckily, I am not on the wrong side of the Thai border from my chosen residence in Bangkok so I have not done more research on it.

But I can tell you my expat friend who had to return to Belgium at the worst possible time to close the sale of his business so he would be free to live full time in Thailand wants to make sure he is among some future 50,000 flight passengers in October, November or whenever.

And if it means booking an appointment to have his love handles removed by liposuction and getting his teeth capped to make it happen that is one of the flaming hoops he is prepared to jump through. But that is someone planning to live here full time, which helps a bit to justify the likely expense and extraordinary effort, not just a two week punter.
I read that article from the Bangkok Post, it was nothing more than a projection from some of these so-called leaders who basically do nothing not qualify for anything but getting on their soapbox to blow smoke up people ass so they to show they are alive and doing something. These are just projections just like the 1. 6 tourists they feel will come to Thailand kicking down doors if they just say the word?

Another Bangkok Post you will read is the 300% rise in application for Elite Visa coming out of Hong Kong because of the locals want another avenue to escape the Communist new ruling that 300% when dig deeper is just 50 requests. Whippy! It is all smoke and mirrors.

Soooo. Unlike everyone in the Thailand thread on ISG, who are trying to claw their way to get back to Pattaya, the bars, the girls, the beach and paradise, you prefer to stay in your own country with borders closed. As long as you are being truthful and all.

And you consider yourself "brave?" You must be having as much fun as a "barrel of monkeys" wherever you are at. Why don't you write up a report on all the fun and partying you are doing. By the way, neither my father nor I have jobs or are employed. I'm so broke that the USA government gave me 1200 $ for stimulus, which equates to about 30 girls off ThaiFriendly to fuck. Thank you tax payers and the USA.

Even if you fall within one of the categories like my brother who's got a Marriage one still needs to do the following which from everything I've read from others who went through the list it takes at least a month?

Time isn't on my side although I might be needed the other side of the world I'm also needed here more my wife has a form of Leukemia although she is doing well she needs me even more so there isn't anyway I can chance departing and not being able to return!

First one must contact a Thai Consulate which in my case is L. A. I wrote to them two months ago outlining my situation with myself here and mother back home still waiting! Nevertheless, one is supposed to contact them and first obtain a letter " certification of entry " submitting documents which I hear is a Covid-19 test result, other documents which I heard is a policy of insurance minimum coverage $100,000 USD (COVID-19) equals 3 million-plus baht coverage at my age for the period of my stay runs something like $5,000 USD. Even if you pass those hurdles and get a letter you must take another COVID test and it must be no older 72 hours prior to your arrival in BKK.

When it comes to flights when I obtained my Cathay Pacific Ticket at the office in Bangkok, the clerk told me they were running a flight out of Bkk one a week? To H. K. The aircraft was inbound to BKK as Cargo then turn around to carry passengers out. Although I didn't see it online he told me they were running daily flights from H. K. To SFO and back was going to increase after July 1st also increase H. K. To BKK if air space opens up which hasn't. So even if I got that far how would I get back into BKK since there aren't any flights it was suggested to contact the airline that was repatriating Thais and qualified people like medical, diplomats, etc. I believe Cathay might have been one of those airlines. The final items once back in BKK you had to be quarantined for 14 days.

As for using a medical excuse once you do your 14 days you can get your medical procedure and thereafter travel throughout Thailand for the rest of your trip?

There's another site that I can't mention that provides links to this. Try https://thepattayanews.com/. You still need to get a current test, a certificate of entry from the embassy, get onto a repatriation flight and then go through quarantine for two weeks on arrival.

Could be worth a try if you have no other choice but to leave.

Not that you must already be in Thailand when setting up that future appointment for the exception. It seems anyone who makes a medical appointment in Thailand from anywhere can try that exception. Just that I assume someone who has a longer term Thai visa could renew it that way upon re-entry rather than entering on an ordinary tourist visa.

An expat friend of mine who owns a condo in Bangkok and lives here most of the year but got caught outside the borders and stuck in his home country during the lockdown is looking into that loophole right now.

I doubt a mere dental appointment would suffice. A hair transplant or any other similar procedure would probably require a substantial downpayment. I also suspect authorities would be quick to close loopholes. There are no more than 4 or 5 well-known hair transplant surgeons in Thailand, they cannot be seen to bring planeloads of medical tourists into Thailand.

Yep, living on another continent when you still have old folks alive who may require flying back at a day's notice is tricky enough in normal times. With Covid it becomes unmanageable. I flew back from Thailand because I had been 6 months without seeing my old folks back home, now I find myself locked out of Thailand, God knows for how long.
