BKK BiB showed up tonight, (Friday Night,) and made surprise inspections. Also made sure venues were closing at 12 a. WS, Soi 6, and Pothole were visited. LK Metro got the word and closed prior to their arrival. They're rumored to be here the weekend. On the Plus side, a few more GC's opened, Also Windmill. And Atlantis owner stated he would reopen Monday.

As for hotels, Opey De place is a good recommendation, with a present price tag of 450-850 Baht, Swimming pool and a descent restaurant.

My buddy booked that place once and when he got here he stayed 1 day and got the hell out. It was horrible. That was about 2 years ago. Maybe they have updated some things by now.

The situation Buakhao / Lengkee is awkward the least!

Most bars open, but as mentioned by others, no or very few customers, mainly expats living here.

The government doesn't seem to care much, I. E. After months of closure finally open, just for a couple of days, Then 2 days closed again bc of Buddha celebrations, then open 1 day again only to be closed again (Soi Lengkee extensive electrical repairs, no electricity). And with another holiday coming up this month. Never ending!

I feel really sorry for the bar / restaurant owners!

Now with the decision to postpone international travel indefinitely, not much hope for these guys to make a descent living in the near future.

Anyway, it is how it is and nevertheless I am enjoying the peaceful life.

SNIP...My advice. As for the tourists traps like the GoGo bars, meet the contraction with contraction and consolidate into a few clubs with your best girls. Are you listening Pin Up? Night wish group the same. Biggest club, biggest stage and pack them in plus pay "them" off... SNIP

On June 24th Monkeypaw wrote that and July 7th, Pin Up opened last night with about 120-150 Of the best girls rounded up, and a full house. Either great minds think alike with Nightwish only opening a few of its bars and packing in the girls, also with Pin Up as well or advice was taken. Next on the list is Palace, this July 10th. One at a time, in phases to funnel the money and control the crowd, just like the Thai government (wink wink). The rest of Walking Street Go Go bars were closed besides Russian scams, Coco, and Tantra (same boss Pin Up).

Walking Street is definitely the tourist trap out of the two. And a good trap needs mice. Only Mickey is left, and he's all grown up. These folks are trying hard to take whatever last tourist dollars are left and not give that same "Good Guys Go to Heaven, Bad Guys Go to Pattaya" experience. By the way, I think at King Cafe, the short fat manager is now also the waiter and the cook and the person holding the sign all in one because I don't see any other staff. Pattaya is definitely broken. But I wouldn't rather be any place in else in the world. Home Sweet Home!

It's now or never since it's Friday night. Hooters is still closed. I always said if Hooters on BR stays closed, then then tourist traps should stay closed. They are the masters of scamming. Walking Street, only XO Club (Russian), Tantra, and Moulin Rouge (Russian) were open as far as Go Go bars go (haha). And they were empty. I saw a few girls on stage, but it looked as if they grabbed any chick off the street who wanted a job. I don't see how any girl can meet their 45-50 drinks quota or if they even get a salary at all. 808 and Candy Shop had some people, but looked very weak. Overall, for a Friday night, I think I saw a total of 200 people all on Walking Street including vendors, motorbike taxis, staff, and girls.

Soi Made in Thailand completely shutdown and dark. The hype and opening of rest of the bars in Pattaya also killed Buakhao businesses as well. Beer Hub empty. Soul City at 10 pm had 2 tables. Soi 6 only 30% of bars open and not very busy with customers. It's all the same girls I saw at Treetown or Beach Road or at the massage shops, when Soi 6 was closed. Basically it's the same little group of girls that just moves around all over Pattaya. Monkeypaw has plenty of money to spend, but the fun and experience just ain't there anymore. Pattaya is not BKK (which I consider operates more like brothels) just sectioned off to Sukhumvit, Nana, Soi Cowboy or Patpong.

Rumour is that Hooters Asia has gone bust. All the nice Thai places are currently busier than I've seen them. Glasshouse / Bacco beach during the day / early evening. Wizard Brewery now with some good bands.

Area 51 been revamped with some cracking women on Saturday. Few of the bars on LK Metro very busy also. Heard it's been quiet in the week.

Tantra was open but no dancers. Just few (6 maybe) girls sitting on chairs on the stages, dressed in a formal gowns, with plastic wrap to separate them. Like a cheap ass version of red light windows in De Wallen. No dancing or standing allowed. Just one big scam. You just sit, order a drink, and stare at the girls sitting behind the walls of plastic wrap. Not sure how Bangkok is allowed to operate their Go Go bars. Me and my buddies walked in, did a a lap, walked out of Tantra. Headed to Lucifer and stayed until closing. Bunch of girls I already banged before stopped by and said Hi at our table, even with their guys. One was drunk and wanted to come back to my place for "free. " Monkeypaw said "no thanks Peemai, no drama needed. " On way back, saw some nice tits on 3 bald headed chicks.

I was told before that the disco was supposed to close at midnight but they would ease the time later and later as the days went by. They closed at 1:30 last night. Of course with the holiday, alcohol sales are supposed to stop at midnight tonight.

Your observation might indicate why people like myself have such a negative review on the BIB and their leaders it is all Smoke and Mirrors. Like I wrote on the evening of July 1st, down at 808 and Candy shop on W. S. they make a big show pulling up in a number of flashing red pick up trucks 25 officers with camera people there were clearly violation everywhere based on their own mandates but the only thing that was done was the camera kept rolling taking shots of the chief. No different every Christmas head man comes to Pattaya makes his journey through W.S to get his read envelope no different a year ago making a large photo op in front of W.S. declaring this was no prostitution. This is so standard and regular the reason why many owners with any brains didn't open on the first night and plan to wait after the up and coming holidays are over.

You look at the traffic yesterday from Bangkok, Hwy 7, not far from my house it was back up for miles as time goes by more and more relax they don't have the manpower to control the crowd this country relies on the honor system for everything being no honor and only for Thai self you give an inch they will take a mile as they say?

It will be very interesting if we get a surge since those coming out partying been here for some time and in theory should be Virus free? But after this holiday period if they get a number of cases are they going to shut it down (Entainment) before it even gets started?
