It seems not so likely that Thai people with good jobs and a good income will come to Pattaya for example to turn tricks (but I am sure it has happened at times when girls are in need for extra cash and when the expenses are very high). But to me it makes sense that a student will do it as a way to get an income, instead of not having to take so high student loans. When I asked the girls why they did not went with them and answers were almost same and points are as follows:

1. Indian guys are cheap charlie, always try to pay less, even a little of their agreed amount and doing nasty bargain in paying time.

It's interesting to read your post and you unlike the other guys don't see it as unlikely that a girl will come from Bangkok during the weekends to work in Beach Road. I am sure there are many examples and different stories to each and every girl as to how they are to be found working in Beach Road. I don't see it as unlikely myself for a girl to travel from a rather nearby city like Bangkok, to work in Pattaya. After all it is just a two hour bus ride away and it's cheap to go here back and forth. 1. Timings: Soi 6 open at around noon and stays open till midnight or 1 am or so. Gogo bars do not really open before 8 pm. G Clubs do not have the same ease of access and quantity. That makes Soi 6 pretty much a monopoly.

2. Clientele: While there is healthy repeat clientele who will gawk at these prices, but eventually pay up (for the reason mentioned above), the real draw is new customers looking to discover Pattaya. For them, the new price is the best it has ever been. So they will pay up too.

You are probably right about the reaction of overall market to this fairly outrageous price hike and I expect that I will probably still visit Soi 6 with the same frequency as before. That is to say infrequently and only when I have nothing better to do before the Go Go's open. The reason: I was never very much enthralled with the quality on Soi 6 and thus I rarely took a girl upstairs. But this being LOS, I don't expect the quality to get any better since the prices have been raised. Too bad. I expect the Soi 6 faithfull are up in arms over this development. Maybe, if you are a well known customer the price hike won't apply to you. I don't know. Think I will check and see what is being posted on that other forum which we can't mention the name of here.

Don't forget the other big group emerging on Soi 6 which are owned by the Chinese. You may want to avoid those as well as they are charging gogo bar rates.
