So October 13th, 14th and 23rd are public holidays. Does that mean that all bars, notably soi 6 bars, will be closed on those days?

13th is a Religious Holiday to mark the end of Buddhist lent (Wan Ok Phansa) and also a Public Holiday for the anniversary of the passing of the previous King. It is a dry (no alcohol sales) day from midnight to midnight according to law, but adherence and enforcement are frequently hit or miss in this country. Bar areas covered by different police stations will operate differently, and how two bars in the same Soi act may depend on their "relationship" with the local Law Enforcement. The only advice is to "suck it and see" - open fronted bars may stay shut or only (appear to) be selling soft drinks. Bars with tinted windows may or may not risk it.

Even asking the day before can be unreliable. You may well get the answer they think you want rather than the facts, the girl may say closed when she means it is her day off, she may inaccurately say closed because she never wants to see you again (never happened to me, of course!) or she may inaccurately say open because she has fallen in love with you or your wallet.

Monday 14-October is a Public Holiday so banks and government offices will be closed but bars will be back to normal (or what passes for normal around here). It is essentially a day in lieu for the anniversary falling at the weekend.

23-October is Chulalongkorn day and marks the passing of the 5th King of the Chakri dynasty (Rama V). Again this is Public (or National, depending on how your native country describes such things) Holiday. Bars, restaurants, etc should be unaffected, banks and government offices will be closed. But keep an eye on the news. Every now and then a curve ball happens.

Strong Thai economy is bad for tourists. Do you have cheaper alternative to pattaya? I feel pattaya is still economical compared to other south asian cities.

Jakarta and Phnom Penh. Jakarta if you like the point and shoot brothel scene and PP if you like the small bar scene. 25-30 USD per hour in Jakarta. 40-50 USD per night in PP. Jakarta has tons of girls. PP not so much. imo looks of the Jakarta girls would blow away Soi 6 girls. PP would be slightly better than Soi 6 looks.

You got barfine and LT for 5500 baht total at Palace? We should all be bowing to you if this was in fact the case. Palace LT fee alone is 5000 standard and their barfine is definitely not 500 baht.

Goats, Palace's line up can be unspiring on the rare off nights or if you go too late/early. Many Models don't start showing up until near 9 pm and usually anyone worthwhile is barfined before midnight.

Been spending four days in Pattaya lately.

I could fuck a young (23 year old) girl's ass on soi6. Downstairs, she had a slutty look and acted raunchy but once in the room became a real starfish. No problem for me, her body was great. LT Barfine now 1250 in soi 6. Not so long ago I remember being quoted 1000.

Very difficult to get hold of a particular girl 2 days in a row. If a girl says "tomorrow 2 o'clock" you can rest assured she will not be there at 2 or even 3. She will text you once you're finished and on your way home though. Better move on to another girl.

Interesting times in Pattaya. First the currency is fluctuating a lot. In one day, lost $13 dollars withdrawing 20,000 baht. Secondly, the owner of the hotel I am currently residing at stated he has never seen Pattaya this slow in 40 years.

For newbies my suggestion is to find a hotel close to soi 6 vs Walking Street. Soi 6 is compelling value -- around 1300 baht for short term, huge selection of chicas and 100 pm. Treat walking street as a tourist attraction. The much higher priced ones are not that much better looking vs. Soi 6.

Visited Soi 6 in the early afternoon. Big selection. Saw a nice chica on a motorbike. Told me she worked at Candy Bar. Another sexy issan. Decent action. Attempted to find my favorite from last night. Unsuccessful. While walking back to Beach road, saw some hotties at Heroes. Made contact for future reference.
