The bar fine makes perfect sense. The bars pay the girls a bit of a salary. They often provide a place for the girls to sleep at night, though some rent their own apartment and share with co-workers. They also allow us to walk by, take a look, talk a little, maybe do some touching and feeling, and check out their personalities BEFORE we pay single baht. Without the bar fine, the bars could simply not afford to support the girls and bye bye Soi 6, in particular.

So, no bar fine, no girls basically, and you will be stuck with online services. Online services can be great to find a girl to come over to bang then leave, all within an hour and with no lady drinks (unless she raids your refrigerator) or added bar fines, but I like to stroll Soi 6 or visit some of the WS agogos, to look at the girls first hand and talk to them to check for chemistry, before deciding. With online services, no way will she let you sit and talk with her, even touch her, without first paying. Some of the bar fines on WS can see to be excessive, I agree, but the basic concept of the BF is quite logical. IMHO.

Walking along Beach Road tonight, I spotted 3 Indian guys negotiating with a freelancer. Their offer to her was for the three of them to bang her one after the other in their room for a total of 1200 baht. So 400 baht each. She walked off with them so she must have accepted their generous offer. I suppose it beats working at 7-11 for 4 days at 300 baht per day.

Why so many here care about what the Indians say or do with prostitutes? You know these girls? It's their business to deal with all these men. If they want they accept, if they not want, they just say no and finish.

From what I see, there are two fractions on this forum, when it comes to money management. First group are people who say: "Just spend the money, you're on holiday" or "If you're planning to negotiate the price with a girl, forget Thailand for now and come back later, once you have enough cash". Second group are people who say: "Your bath is worth more than you may think" or "Don't be a two-legged ATM". It's interesting to read that discussion. I think top girls can discriminate Indians and still do well considering one boink with a Japanese guy can pay here share of her rent (roommate). I think Indians only go the 3 k+ route mainly at the soapies.

If this trend continues which is likely it's more than possible they will in time become critical to the success of for example walking street. But there is a problem. Justified or not they have a less than stellar reputation and are avoided by many of the girls who apart from some personal cultural issues simply don't trust them. Consequently something has to give.

Can the visitors change their ingrained value system? Over time possibly but in the short term probably not although one simple change to make immediately would be to break into groups of twos instead of the more normal five's and sixes.

Will the girls accept they are an increasing source of income and adopt measures to overcome their issues? More likely. These could take the form of payment upfront, compulsory pre sex showers and a warning when agreeing to go with a customer that unacceptable behavior such as friends waiting back in the room will not be tolerated with no refund of bar fine.

Either way the income opportunities South Asians represent is too great to be ignored.

One more foreigner who does not realize how far 1000 baht really goes around here. FYI, most people that I know who work normal jobs earn 10K/month.

People like you are not causing many problems for people like me. I see why the words "walking ATM" were invented. After they finish with my cheap charlie ass, they know a lich falang like you will be along at any second.

I know many people who are earning 10 k / month, but all of them are Thai and none of them goes to nana plaza, cowboy or in Sukhumvit massage shops.

I don't know any monger who makes less than 80 k / month, maybe I have small circle.

I'm mid 30's Indian who just visited Pattaya for the sixth time in 14 years. All my stays have been minimum a week long or so but I always rtff before landing here. Here are some tips from my experience:

1. If your game is OK try accosting beautiful women wherever you find them. Streets, malls, eateries, etc (your gut should tell they're WG). Don't lose a chance, don't be shy and don't be too cocky. Get chatting a few lines, get a bit touchy feely (they really don't mind that from a stranger IMHO) and exchange Line IDs. I've had the bestest of luck that way. In their downtime they may want to visit you. Although ST is normally quoted 1000 in bars, many of these girls can come 700-900 for ST if pursued rightly. And am talking about stunners.

2. If possible don't go for girls above 25 (unless you're itching a MILF that day) and in worst case 30. Just ask them to show their IDs playfully as they lie all the time. I feel women above 30 are a hardened lot, and the bodies aren't as elegant anymore. The choice of beautiful 20-something girls is plentiful here. Why settle for less, and reduce your ROI?

3. I personally just do GoGos only once per visit to see what's the latest trend. I think they've a total rip-off. They don't offer the best value for money for a real mongerer. And the girls are snobs there. Other waste of money are the soapies, oilies and overpriced Russian / CIS girls. Savor local while you're here.

4. Give a shot to Tinder and WeChat nearby function. Sometime you may find beautiful girls here. ThaiFriendly did not work for me and I hate its messaging system. So don't waste time on it.

5. On Soi 6, if a girl quotes you 1000, you should counter with 800. Tbh that's a very good price for 30 min boink, and the ones who don't accept that should be done away with.

Merely a sampling. There's hotter and there's profoundly uglier on ThaiFriendly. I tried to post even more pics in that post, but the forum only loaded up 5-6.

I used to go for the hottest girl that would take my money, particularly in German FKKs. Over time, I've shifted away from what the Germans call an "optikfuck," and more toward establishing somewhat of a connection. I spent over a month. I've gone the complete opposite as I got older. Rarely do I pick the popular girls or the ones that run around getting their drinks quotas in.

There are lots of nights I just look and don't want to be bothered with all the games. If out late enough and bored I might walk through I[Bar, Red Car, even the Bamboo bar if I want true people-watching entertainment. Indian mongers surely can't be accused of driving the prices up for the rest of us.

I know a Beach Road girl who likes Indian customers, though she typically holds the price at 600. She's selling sex for money anyway, so 4 guys in a row is much better than 4 guys with an hour of standing and waiting and round trips to various hotels in between. She says they come quickly too, though she's versatile and is perfectly fine with handling a reasonably demanding Farang as well (somewhat more likely to get into it and finish, she says).

In the Asian sex industry, high volume with minimal time and service quality is a common model, as evidenced by the cheaper options in places like Singapore, Hong Kong or Malaysia.
