Your fellow countrymen have definitely left a bad taste that will take undoing on your part. Decided to Google this place. Soi 13/3 as we all know is better known as PattayaLand aka Boyz Town where all the gay bars are. Obviously this is why I had never been to Kitten Club! There was no special party. Palace girls often wear matching outfits. There are always topless models at Palace with their first set starting right after 9 pm. Being near the DJ area is not the VIP area. It's a regular seat.

I've experienced this 'order something before entering the bar' thing in Nana Plaza a lot, but this is fine by me as long as they let me in. They usually let me in if I am alone, but if two Indians (for example my travel buddy) try to enter together, not sure what hell breaks loose, they deny entry to the same bar which I entered my last trip alone. I am planning my next solo trip again to Thailand, fingers crossed.

The other night, I was hunting alone on Walking Street and had success. First at around 8:00, I tried the Crazy House where there was a small stature's girl who was about half the size of the others who wanted me to buy her a drink. I tried to get her to sit with me for free, but she said she had to go upstairs and dance. I saw another hot girl and asked about sex and it was too bad she was menstruating at the time. 3. Go to Windmill or Sugar Baby. (I'm assuming they let you in there.) Ask another customer if he can take you to Baccara. Don't ask him right away. (Buy a few ladies drinks first so that the guy knows that you are not a cheap person.) Asians usually do not drink with strangers so you will have more luck with a Westener. Of course, you will have to buy him a drink if the attempt is successful..

Sorry to hear about this entry refusal. It's a pain I'm sure. I'm Indian too and waiting till it happens to me but so far never denied entry as yet. I always go solo, no fancy clothes but clean and always in confidently as if I own the place. Once a guard started to say something in Pattaya but I gave him some BS answer that I'm from Mexico or California or something I don't remember now. But never a problem in BKK. In fact others in Baccara were all being told to get a drink but I just looked at pointed at the white dude (Bob?) sitting at the entrance who recognized me & just waved me in. Upstairs the mamasans are all smiles. I guess I have a lookalike heavy spender and reaping the benefits maybe. I'm not especially a fan of Gogo bars but may go there early in the evenings to get a couple of drinks before hitting the action in the clubs. I have barfined a few times from Baccara, rainbow in nana and also billboard.

I was stopped at the door at Baccara and told to order something before entering. I said I want to look inside first. He said this isn't a disco so I got annoyed and left. Don't think I've had that happen before in Thailand. If that's what I had at the door they must push drinks hard inside. I was with another Indian and at red car they wanted 200 at the door. I don't know if that was because it was a Saturday night, we were Indian, or we were 2 single guys (or a combination). Other than that I don't think I've been denied entry.

P.S. Don't make excuses for their racism. I know you think you're being reasonable by trying to understand their point of view but all you end up doing is perpetuating those stereotypes. You say you are well dressed, clean, and smell good but was denied entry. The only factor remaining is Indian.

I am truly grateful for your suggestions. I used to wear a leather jacket and that helped me get into a few bars, but the minute I return to my jeans and t-shirt few of them deny entry maybe that would be the problem, might need to upgrade my wardrobe. I always wanted to try a suit and I own a few elegant suits but never tried to wear it in WS because I felt that wearing a suit there might feel weird or awkward because I've never seen anyone in a suit so far. I will also try to talk to a Westerner and strike a deal. I've had experience on how to make sure they remember me after they let me in. This lesson was learnt in Crazy House and I always remember to tip the waiters and the security so that they remember me. I never touch the girls inside the bar, I crank up my shy character so that the girls who approach me feel comfortable when they are trying to make me feel comfortable. Swimming in bad water in Thailand is very very dangerous. One village guy recently died after wading in bad water with a cut on his leg. Developed a fever and went to hospital a bit late, they could not save him. Not the first guy to die from bad water. In any doubt about water quality, don't put your head under. If an amoeba goes up your nose, it goes to the brain and is fatal

Where I live in Isan the villagers avoid going into the ponds and rivers due to the huge amount of pesticides that run off from the fields into these outlets. It is very dangerous as the toxicity is at extreme levels. Makes swimming at Pattaya beach look like the blue lagoon.
