My old account had 1000 posts. I kind of got disenchanted with all the nonsense you have to deal with from time to time. Tend to have to search through a lot of coal to find the odd tiny diamond. Anyway, decided 1 night to enter a jumbled password and then did the same with a new email by blindly hitting keyboard. Old account dead for good I guess. No real regrets either.

My old account was "Bubba Boy" , even had my old Rio de Janeiro thread.

Seriously though, I want to know if there are any termas other than centaurus in ipanema. I want to try a high-end hotel this time because I'm only there for 6 days, I was in copa last time, so maybe have a different experience. But not if it means I am untenably far from the action. Convenience was the key to my experience last time and that's the part I like the best.

I'm in Rio De Janerio right now, I can tell you all the action is in the Termas, and there are hardly any gringos (Tourist) in town, Balcony is pretty much a wash.

I'm heading to the 4x4 right now, it opens at 2:00pm, I will keep you guys updated.

You can find Bwana Dik's Rio guide when googling. I think 2012 is the last one.

I started intermediating this but somehow it never got finished. Maybe someone wants to finish this?

Just FYI I don't spend much time in Rio anymore, hence not much chance of an update anytime soon. I can say the info is still basically up to date with the exception of luomo that is closed for good.

Please don't bother sending me PM's anymore, I only log on once like every 3 months or so.

If anyone else would like to update the guide, feel free. Cartman? Sperto?

I will be headed to Rio on 03/20. Can someone verify that the info on Bubba's 2012 guide still holds true? If not, maybe an update will be posted sometime this week.

Its not so much that you need to pay for the document as much as you need to be a paid member of the site. That said, it is the most up-to-date and in depth guide for Rio. Also, with a paid membership, you can send private messages to other members which may help you connect with other members while in Rio.
