Bubba,
I wanted to know during carnival are there places besides club help to meet girls that wear fantasy outfits and have a club atmosphere of dancing like Help?
I would appreciate any info.

Just wanted to take a minute to thank you on the 100 page report you wrote. I am sure it took hours and hours to complite, so thanks for all that hard work. For me i would of been lost with out it. I had it loaded in my notebook and of course my notebook was with me in RIO. It was the best tool for the job. There is so much important information in there that you should read the whole thing twice so you wont forget what not to do. I had no problems what so ever with this valuable tool in hand. I am sure I will read it once or twice again before i go back in November.

Posts: 1Centaurus girls cell phone numbers
Hello,
A few days ago I was at the Centaurus and got a cell phone number from a girl. Once I left, I could not found the paper with the number on and I searched on my bathrobe in the room where you change your clothes. The assistance lady always asked me what I'm searching for and whether it is a cell phone number. Finally I said yes and told her even the name, because she promised me to inform the girl to wait outside. Unfortunately the girl was not outside.
Do you know, does the girl get into trouble at Centaurus if somebody finds my paper or if the assitance lady tells it to the management? I have a bad feeling now, because I liked the girl and want to visit her again at Centraurus.
Your answers are very appreciated.
Best regards,
Steffl Roemer

Posts: 2345Any foodies in Rio just now?
Bubba´s report mentions a restaurant called Tia Palmira (top food experience)which is a bit of a hike (Barra d.Guaratiba). I am a fan of top cuisine however and don´t want to visit just to impress a garota. If anyone else is heavily (no pun intended) into food and would like to share a cab out there some time in June let me know. We could do a terma in Recreio or Barra on the way there or back.
This is more one for someone who is taking it easy than dashing in and out.

Posts: 700Bubba boy, a big thank you
Bubba Boy,
Just wanted to write you a note of thanks for the great guide that was a really good help during my Rio trip back in February. Gave me all the facts I needed to have a good trip, and kept me from having to learn about the place the difficult way.
Still a newbie mongerer, but have tried to add my bit on the main Rio board.
The only thing I would add to your guide, if I may be a bit bold, since this one is important for the newbie mongerers that use the guide: Some of the mix drinks in Help and other places are extremely strong, not nearly the same as in Europe or US. (Not only talking about the caperhinis (spelling?), but also the Cuba Libres, Tequila Sunrises, and so on.) First couple of nights I got much drunker than I was planning to, thought it was because of jet lag, but then figured this out. Had one, well one and a half, close calls because of this that could have ended up badly if it wasn't for hotel security bailing me out. Once I figured out the strength of the mix drinks I kept out of trouble.
Regardless, thank you again for having written the guide.
Fun and Sun

Posts: 313Speaking of the Metro.... now there is a Metro stop in posto 5. Cantagalo Station just opened about 1 month ago. From the beach just walk up Rua Xavier da Silveira about 3 blocks and you can't miss it. Beats having to walk all the way down to Sigueia Campos.

Posts: 1364Anybody have the same problem as Ace?
Ace, I am sorry but I don't think I can help you with that. It sounds like a problem with your computer specifically. The maps open on my computer fine and I tried them on a friends, same thing, fine. Can anyone else report that they have the same problem? If they do there may be a corrupt file.
Hojeobrigado, can you please post your question in the appropriate section, that being Rio de Janeiro - Hotels & Apartments.

So Bubba- your advise, what is your opinion of- Mercure Apartments Rio De Janeiro Botafogo, Rua Sorocaba 305, obviously in Botafogo as opposed to staying in Zona Sul. Obviously a little off the beaten path, but still an Accor property.
Please Advise

Tavares, can you post in another, more appropriate thread. This thread is designed for the guide and questions relating to it. Your questions have little to do with this and should be posted in maybe "rio reports" which seems to be the more general "chat type" thread.

If Bubba wants to see where most brazilian girls end up in Europe he should travel to Portugal and write one of his comprehensive reports about it: Literally hundreds of night clubs, bars and discotheques across the country with THOUSANDS of brasileiras in all forms and shapes.
If anyone interested, I can help out.
