hi folks,

i'm arriving in rio on wednesday, nov 23rd. as a rio-newbie i will be grateful for some advices. well, i read a lot about the "termas" but being honest. i prefer pick-up-places like. the former "help". i know, it was full of hookers, but i feel myself much more convenient, when i see the chicas dressed (sexy) , as i like to watch them walking / laughing / behaving before i do my choice. is there anything similar to the former "help"? can be smaller, of course. maybe a hotel bar? or an open-air-disco?

i have the opposite opinion: unfortunately, freelancer girls at these places are the most dangerous choices. could be ****, or otherwise trouble. steal, call police, not perform but fight for her money.

it sounds like you would love termas or cheaper equivalents. you can chat up the girls, drink, watch, talk to them and feel them up. but then go straight to the back room.

i usually go to massage parlors where you have only a few minutes to pick a girl, and then go to the back room. but, they usually are that much cheaper that you can afford the occasional dud. but this might not be for you, if talking and chatting is an important ingredient.

i will be in rj all sunday and monday with a return home scheduled for tuesday. this is my first time there and i have tried to read as far back as possible into the rj reports but i'm still not sure i'm getting it. i also went through bubba's comprehensive report and found it very helpful. however, i've been away from the scene for a while and still feel like i will get lost when i get there. my point is, can any of you experts on rio tell me the current best spots to hit? as i will not have that much time to move around i will deeply appreciate your help with this one. please reply to this post or pm me.

i am often in the mood to go on a early daytime tour to cheap (r$ 25) to mid-priced (r$ 50. 120) massage parlors. contact me, with your contact info. my email reply is usually in your spam filter. also sometimes call agencies and have a few other private contacts. i also rent suites in my apartment which naturally gets you more attention and help, but it is probably too late for that (and i am full today anyway)

the experienced rio visiters will know this, but for any newbies reading. if you get a taxi from the airport to your hotel or apartment then.

eventually i get in a yellow cab, the guy drives off. but forgets to turn the meter on. amigo say i, por favor. he "forgot" to switch it on. as this is my 7th trip to rio i know the route from the airport to the top end of copa via botofogo so i know he takes me straight there. the price is r$47. this a little more than the r$40 i expected so i guess the rate has gone up in the last 6 months as it was between 50-60 to prado jr back in june

if he does not turn on the meter i say: "great, today i get a free ride" and point to the meter. that gets their attention.

i recommend the real accredited yellow airport taxis for safety reasons. there are 2 companies with some reference to airport (aerotaxi) or something similar.

Man I just had one of those great nights. A girl I know who used to work at Monte Carlo. And then moved to a few other T's, including ones I don't like. Called me up earlier in the week to say she'd stopped working and now she was free to see me whenever I wanted (read: "I'm broke, so I will come bang you!"). We had a drinky and went up to hang out on my deck and catch up. Couldn't keep my hands off her. Down to the bed for a good solid 30-40 minutes of fun. Ela fez tudo! Great techniques, eye contact, clean fresh and delicious, I think she came like 4 times. Showered up, got her some more drinky-winky, hung out some more on the deck, returned for round II. Every Monday Bonus Consumption R70, 00 after 19h, sounds like an awesome promotion. I liked the logic behind the new promotions about consumption towards entry fee. I have a final in 2 weeks for one of my Grad School's operation management class. I highly recommend that Copa Terma managers can be more prosperous if they take some lessons on forecasting, inventory management, and most significantly demand and capacity management in the service sector. If the same promotion exists by the time I land in Rio, I might have to make some modification to my current considered to-do-list. Also, I am starting to give 4 x 4 price structure a momentous thought because bearing in mind that adding cab fare both ways from Copa to Centro, their tab might escalate more than Luomo, after adding drink and transportation expenditure.

It happened once to me. The meter was ticking way to fast. I discovered that when the driver shifted gear he pressed a device and the meter made a jump. It was quite funny as it was so obvious what he was doing.

I have to say I've never managed to get free drinks at T65. Was it something new? How did you learn about it? Normally they even charge me for my standard agua com gas.

I went in the Don Cafe instead of the termas at about 5-5. 30. They gave me two vouchers which I guess give you free drinks. I had aqua sim gas, which in T65 is one of those plastic cups rather than a bottle. The total cost was R$385.

Coming in Rio the 3rd week of January, is there the risk to find a very quiet city due to bank holidays (17 & 21/01) with Termas & prives closed?
