I have been dreaming of going back to SP or RIO, but this COVID aint going to subside and US is still restricted from entering. Would love it to end soon, if the 2 clown leaders can stop being clowns.

Anyway, I have been looking at https://www.instagram.com/diamond.brazil/ and https://www.instagram.com/simonebelloto/ and can say that I have been with a few girls in there, especially 1 of them. Cool that I get to be with a few cover girls for a major brazillian sensual magazine, and would like to see more of them.

A lot of countries have been restricting entrance of Americans because of the number of covid infections. However, if there is one country that should allow Americans in it is Brazil as the two countries have the same predicament.

Solarium is reopening 8-Jul. They're also having some event on 10-Jul called "Night of Solidarity". New hours are 14 h to 22 h on Monday thru Friday and 16 h to 22 h on Saturdays.

It's a nice step in the right direction of getting back to "normal"!

A buddy of mine actually met and married a girl he met at Barbarellas believe it or not.

He's retired and they now live in a different city in Brazil.

She is a real sweetheart, and he was hooked from the moment he met her.

They've now been together for about 5 years, and though they have traveled thru Europe together he has no plans of bringing her to the USA to live.

Happy in Brazil.

I always had mixed feelings about Barbarella but I am sad to see yet another place closed down for good.

So another one bites the dust. Bararella Boite, RIP. Well I can't say I'll shed a tear for the 'old gal' as I've only been in the joint a couple of times, a long, long, long time ago, it did have a spinoff effect with regards to very fond memories the Rua Prado Jr. area, in which it is located.

My best memories of the Barbarellas was GDP/people watching ouside and around the nearby areas of Bararellas on the opposite corner, while grabbing a late night hot bowl of homemade sopa/caldo. It was a nice way too spend anywhere from 20 min. To an hour or so, chatting to the sopa vendors, GDPs, SW or the late night riff-raff (like myself), all the while checking out the hotties (and their 'catch-of-the-day') going to-and-fro Barbarellas and the Jr. Prada area SWs.

Yes, the Prado Jr. area, in its hayday was teaming with action and provided nearly as much lively entertainment as Terraco Atlantico outside Help, on some nights (...well not quite, but almost). It was great fun, some nights, zipping back and forth between Terraco Atlantico/Help and the Jr. Prada area and running into many of the same girls from the other area you just left. This often presented an opportunity for a chuckle, a laugh and nice intro into negotiations or just general chit-chat while checking out other alternatives. On other nights there was your typical novella type drama, cat-fights, scantily dressed SWs and the non-stop peacocking TVs in the area. Definitely with the mix of high-end and low-end clubs, bars and boites, provided an interesting mix to a once interesting area.

Barbarellas was certainly one of the cornerstone clubs/boites in the Prado Jr. areas (and the Zona Sul P4P scene, in general) and as such I will miss it, not as a valued patron of the establishment, but will miss it for the spinoff "added value" that it brought to the area. Much like the spinoff and knock-on effects that Club "Helpee" created, Barbarellas shall be missed.

My personal favorite place was the nearby Frank's Bar. It was more laid-back. I didn't care for the live sex shows they had for awhile. I did hook-up with a few hotties though. One time there was a pretty spinner doing her little dance. Not really much of a dance. I stuck some money in her g-string. She looked shocked because the locals never tipped the dancers. She came to my table afterward and never left. Needless to say, I took her home. Those were the days in Brazil where some kindness and laughter went real far in establishing a connection.

Love those good stories from the past, and actually, as I'm sure you know, these acts of kindness and laughter still go a long way in Brazil, most especially out of the tourist zone.

Can't wait to get back!

Definitely had some good times in Barbarella. I remember joking around with a tallish, Italian looking brunette bombshell who had that Penthouse Pet look that some of us will remember. She said I was funny. She didn't want to hook-up because she was tired, but after some convincing she agreed to meet me the following afternoon for what was US $125. Now that was a high ticket price for an afternoon rendezvous in the mid-2000's.

She's probably one of the hottest girls I have ever been with if not the hottest. And in that Brazilian garota tradition, she was going to make sure she rocked my world.

I remember my last time in Barbarellas.

Was sitting, talking, negotiating with a beautiful girl.

We were clicking (at least I thought) and came up with an agreeable amount, maybe 3-400 reais.

Anyway, she goes to get her things together to leave with me, but when she comes back, she points to some guy at another table and says he just stopped her and offered her more, like a 1000 reais.

I said cool, go with him, with her expecting me to counter offer or something.

I turned away, and went to pay my bill and leave, and she comes back and says Ok baby, I'll just leave with you, original deal.

And knowing of course that she was just trying to play me earlier, I said bye bye, LOL.

I probably hit VM afterwards and enjoyed, LOL.

Yes, like you guys are saying, Barbarellas had gone way down hill, I think the pick up in Mabs may have had something to do with it. Who knows.

Maybe something new will open in its place after this crisis.

Ticket booked for January, it was such a good deal (295 UKP return from LHR on Air France) was impossible to refuse and comes with rebooking or refund option if things are still f*cked up.

Will be my first visit so that's why I'm here soaking up the senior members intel.

I go every year during peak summer season in Rio. This year who knows. I will probably end up deciding kind of last minute to see how things evolve in Brazil as well as vaccines or treatment.
