It was a Friday and the Centro termas were going to be closed for the weekend and I realized that I hadn't visited any of them. This November I was in Rio for some days accompaining other people that don't share the same mongering passion I do. To contain costs I had to stay in the same room with them and therefore had to limit my mongering options to only termas and bordellos. The hotel of choice was the Premier Copacabana which I hear is girl friendly but I didn't exploit it as said.

Two words about the hotel: very professional staff, free wifi (not always fast but acceptable for browsing), good but always the same breakfast, easy to reach the Centro thanks to the metro right outside the hotel and it's in Copa (which I prefer to Ipanema, more shops and cheap eating options). Overall, recommended.

Touristic info

Taxi are cheap. Take one for going inside Zona Sul but don't for going to Centro (metro is faster and cheaper in this case).

Busses are plenty and very cheap too. Rua Barata Ribeiro, Av. Nossa Senhora de Copacabana and Av. Atlantica are the spots to take them, depending where you want to go.

If you want to spend a bit to eat out, Marius Crustaceos in Leme is the best for a great and entertaining evening. R$92 for all the meat you can eat and R$150 for all the fish. Not cheap but once is well worth going. Caipirinha on the beach is still around R$5, coco is a sort of fixed price at R$2, 5. A plate of meat shouldn't cost more than R$40 in Copa and R$45-50 in Ipanema/Leblon; for fish, add R$10. Pasta (if you dare to taste that soft version they have there) is no more than R$25, often way less. The same thing in Centro is R$10 cheaper than in Zona Sul. Of course, it all depends on the kind of restaurant you choose.

Day 1

Landed, dropped my bags and done a tour of my neighborhood to know my way around, I waited until my second day to test my first terma because of lack of sleep from the flight. I have found the management at Monte Carlo to be very fair, very honest and very hands-on when it comes to handling any dispute. I thought the time in 4x4 doesnt start until they come back into the room, pick up the phone and speak to the girl at the desk. Almost every girl I have ever had at 4x4, brings me to the room first and then goes to retrieve her little box thing. Once she calls the desk, then the clock starts.
