Hello, I will be traveling to Rio for the first time in July. I have read the past 5-10 pages of comments that seem to have good information. I have traveled extensively in Europe but only a small amount in South America (Buenos Aires). I will be in Santiago for 3 weeks for business and will end my trip with 4 days in Rio. Since I know very little about Rio I am looking for some advice of where to stay in Rio. Some other Brazilians I work with mentioned Ipanema is a good area to stay. I will be traveling with some other co-workers (non-Brazilian) and they want to stay in this area. If I play I will venture off on my own so location near to termas and such is not important. My friends will want to be near the beach. I would be grateful for some recommendations of good places to stay such as hotels in this area. I have also read AirBnB is also popular in Rio. Is this a better option than a hotel? If you know of good apartments to look at that would also be helpful. I can read reviews online but recommendations from others who know Rio well are more valuable.

Airbnb is fine. Regardless who you rent from or whatever agency you decide to use, I highly suggest you ask if there is any construction going on in that building or its surroundings during your stay. Seems there is always some form of restoration going on somewhere, and it can be really annoying listening to constant hammering and drilling going on all freaken day. Good luck!

Leblon, Ipanema or Copacabana is probably the right place for you. With the Metro you get to Centro in no time. Go on booking.com and use the map view to find a good place. Be near a metro station to simplify getting around. No need for taxi if all you do is go between beach hotel and centro.

For the single traveler especially with a car, you can book a Motel as a real hotel. Comodore is one, strategically near the Airport. I have used it as a first and last night and sometimes more nights base. You sleep in the love hotel, breakfast included and you call a garota in whenever you feel like it. Totally private, safe and hassle free.

That one sentence is gold. Having a game plan when you are visiting a country with limited time is everything. If you are travelling to a particular area of the city, you also should have Plan be and see if Plan A doesn't work out. I tend to shop and research the massage places online and make appointments which usually works. But what if doesn't. Girl doesn't show. Regular shows up. Bad experience, etc; then go to other plans. That doesn't mean there are days when you don't do field research, it just means you need to have a plan to make the most of your time. Developing a master list (names, addresses, websites, phone numbers is the way to go). Equally important is a list of places to avoid.

50 reais entrance (40 reais toward consuption, 10 reais toward entrance).

There is no bathroom, there is only shower in their suite, their suite is bigger and better than cabins in 4 po r4 and Cancun.

There is no shower in their cabins but you can take a shower in private before and after the session, there are many shower rooms that are separate from cabins.

I sessioned in 502. I found a girl I like.

Price 190 reais in a normal room and 20 reais with two drink included.

The cabin from 502 is better and bigger than 4 por 4, 65, mv 30 and Cancun. They give you a soap, towel. There is air conditioner, shower and big bed.

I also checked the suite in 502, there is no bathroom in their suite, only a shower and bathroom, the suites from Playground are way better and bigger than the ones from 502.

Playground: 250 reais one hour in a suite. 160 reais 30 minutes in a normal room. The normal room in Playground is better than the suite in 502.

502 : one hour 190 reais in a cabin and 250 reais in a suite.

In 502, you can also choose 20 minutes program in a cabin. If you are just interested in fast fuck.

502 has always been right on the edge of acceptable facilities. If they would just have put a little money into it, it could be a lot better. Agree playground has nicer rooms / showers / bathrooms. MV30 also is slightly nicer.

I know and saw many Japanese Brazilians that are skinny in Brazil and don't have any curves. Brazil is big with many different body types. In the south of Brazil next to Argentina border, there is an eastern European community. There are many girls that are skinny with big tits.

Mixed Japanese Brazilians are curvier but there are still many people that don't mix up with others in Brazil. Many white Caucasian (Germans, Italians and eastern Europeans), Jews, Japanese, Lebanese, Syrians stick together. So there are still many people that are not mixed in Brazil. It depends on the location because Brazil is a big country. It is like the USA? If you want to meet more Mexicans, just go to the south, if you want to meet more Chinese people just go to SF and other cities with Chinatown. Visited Monte Carlo last week on the Friday. Quite empty in the boate, according to the girls because of the holiday the day before. On my broader point, I think you can have a better time in Brazil and also a better time with the girls if you do some reading here and some cultural research. In this most of us concur.

I myself wouldn't go to Brazil if I had a predilection for skinny girls with natural breasts. Brazilians and Argentinians don't favor and promote certain body types. There are very distinct genetic differences between the two countries that determine how they roll.
