FAQ. Centro or Botafogo?

Q: thinking about copacabana for tourist things prives. Or would centro or botafogo be the better option?

A: The best place in Rio is Botafogo. Look for apartments as near as Hotel Panda, the best love motel (along with Bambina) as possible. The best address is the Verandas Sao Clemente, Rua Sao Clemente 114, with a veranda overlooking the Rua Bambina side, which has a hostel which plays live music long into the night, which is a great ambiance for women. I priced on of the apt hotels next to Panda and it was $5000 r all in for a apartment with 2 bedrooms, and a cute veranda which had a view of Cristo. This is like classified but the best non pros are at the catholic university in Gavea which is an easy bus ride from Rua Sao Clemente, so if you're a guy with some real game, go there and take your shot at the non pro lottery -- those are girls you would actually want to marry, as they have family money, brains, looks (the most beautiful women in the world are in Rio, and the most beautiful women in Rio are, as everywhere, catholic college girls; sorry, but the Jewish chicks at the temple out in Barra are not as good, haha).

That said for pure fuck logistics, staying at the aforementioned Hotel Atlantico Tower is best for fuck fuck fucking as it is 2 blocks from 4 x 4, a ton of centro casas, and the best casa, IMHO, Clube 116 (rua the conceceiao 116).

Centro hotel.

The go to centro hotel is Hotel Atlantico Tower, Rua Visconde de Inhuama 95, at the intersection of Rio Branco.

If you need a Good, affordable hotel for a night or two when you first arrive to to hotel atlântico tower, rua Visconde de inhuama 95. It is 400 meters from 4 x4. Cost is like 100 reais a night. Then go in person to Av Gastão Sengés 395 and rent a room for a month, ask for Rafael. But you can go at 9 am and always find landlords who are renting monthly. In the same trip you could also go to Barrabella and ask to visit rooms. As I said, the barrabella may be one of the new Hoartels in Barra.

The relative merits of P1 v P6 are that P1 is right on the metro so you can walk there and take the Metro. P6 is more removed, and according to some locals, the best part of Barra in all aspects (which I agree with). P1 is also where the excellent terma Perola Negra is located, along with the excellent socializing area Olegario Maciel.

I agree it's better to stay in Centro however the quality of those hotels had a lot of negative reviews. Can't be beat for the price though.

I also recommend, in more or less order:

A vasco the gama soccer shirt. You can get one at metro uruguiana for 70 r (fake), or you can go to get a real one at the san januiaro stadium. It is also your single best security measure.

There are several brands that offer essentially the same thing. I bought mine through Amazon where you can search around for the kind of features and price range that you want, plus read reviews. These days every international monger should own a universal plug adapter offering multiple USB ports and surge protection!

When I travel overseas, I always pack my trusty universal plug adapter (similar to the one pictured) that I can use pretty much anywhere in the world I go to. It's a beautiful thing. Besides the plugs for the different countries / regions, it has several USB ports, and I can use it to charge my devices too. Just love it, and it's one of the very best travel items I ever purchased. Now, the only country where I have not been able to use it is in Argentina where they have this funky kind of outlet not found anywhere else that I know of. I thought it was the same as Australia's, but the Australia plug on my "cube" didn't work. But no problem! I also travel with an adapter I bought specifically made for Argentina. So it's all good!

The only thing I would add is that getting a hotel room for the Centro swing events might be better than two uber rides (I actually use indriver, so 42 r each way. A room at the hotel Atlantico tower or hotel Atlantico prime (which I haven't stayed in yet) usually runs 100 or less). That also gives a place to fuck. Hotel is very friendly to guests.

I agree it's better to stay in Centro however the quality of those hotels had a lot of negative reviews. Can't be beat for the price though.

The requirements have changed for the better, they now accept antigen test taken within last 24 hours boarding first flight.

Although this might be the case the airlines are usually slow to adapt to these rules. I'm leaving soon with a pcr test. The airline will deny you boarding if you don't have one.
