Visiting Rio has been on my bucket list for some time and finally was able to make the visit recently.

I am a frequent visitor of Colombia and always wanted to compare the two which made possible by amazing Copa airline airfare and 4 to 1 currency.

Below are my experiences and hope it helps future mongers to avoid any shortcomings.

And, if you google mongering in Rio, you will able to find detailed guide from blogger which helped me a lot.

ATM- Used Bradesco bank exclusively without any issues.

Food- Due to limited Portuguese, only dined at buffet style restaurants and the food was amazing.

Uber- It worked amazing and used it everywhere. Super cheap as well and forget the taxi.

Massage parlors:

Prive Euro Barra: Located in Barra the Tijuca area and open on Sundays.

You must give the copy of passport to the building attendance in order to enter the building. Session with this girl and she gave amazing BBJ with CIM. She was only one available.

Copa 583- Located in Copa area and same building as Eden Spa. Probably has the best room and shower that I have seen in my mongering times. It's white color with very clean place. Unfortunately, most of girls aren't that attractive and only session once desperate of vising multiple times. Very nice front desk host.

Eden Spa- Same building located with Copa 583 on 4th floor. They always had pretty girls and had some good time here. The only negatives are small room and shower room is separated. Highly recommended.

Bel Prazer- Centro parlor which always had few mongers in waiting room. Heard good things about it but highly disappointed with looks of girls. Mostly 4-5's. Visited more than four times and never session here.

Duda Massagens- Sama thing as Bel Prazer. Disappointed with girls and never session.

VIP Therapy- Was my favorite parlor during my trip. The front desk host spoke perfect English and always had pretty girls there. Met a blonde who was my best experience during my trip. The fee was R100 which was like 25 dollars (still could not believe I fucked someone on 9 scale for that price).

Espao Shiva Terapias- Place in Centro where many other parlors operate out of same building. Walked in and was advised that they do not offer sex and only massage.

Julia Massagens- Yikes, ugly girls and place looked dirty. Same building as Duda Massagens.

Espao Mente Corpo- A bit of walk from Centro metro station unlike another Centro parlor locations. A nice front desk host and had many girls available. Session once and it was ok (worthy of visit).

J Panteras- Place moved or closed. Rang the doorbell and some elderly women answered the door.

Mab's / on-line:

Mab's- My apt was literally across from Mab's and visited every night. Not sure but just did find any women attractive. Try to go over to Dolce Vita but never went since figured most women would come to Mab's first anyway.

On-line / photoacompanhantes: heard feedback that many posts were bait and switch and it was true to my case. This was my worst experience in Rio.

Visited this girl and was promised anal and CIM for R150. When I went, she was in one of building in Copa area and was sharing the apt where office cubicle with no lighting (pitch black). Termas 44: Every time I was in Centro, stopped by to see if was opened. It looks like construction is finished but still closed.

Termas 65: Centro Terma and highly recommended. Cheaper than Monte Carlo and other high end termas visited. The front desk host spoke perfect English and had a good time. This is the place that I felt about Brazilian women superior than Colombians. The best sex that I ever had at this place with one chick.

Termas 502: Centro Terma which you do not need to put on the white rope. Maybe I went too early but they weren't too many girls and did not session.

Termas Solarium- Visited this terma on my last night on Friday and was highly disappointed with quality of girls that I saw. Had a such of high expectations of being one of best of place but it lacked the quality and ended up going to Monte Carlo for my last place of the trip. Again, front desk spoke perfect English.

Final thought: Even with 4 to 1 currency and spending nine days, spent tons of money unlike Colombia. Again, maybe I had too much of high expectations where I would find 10's on every place but I didn't. And, I'm not too much of fan of tattoos on girls and many girls in Rio had too much of it. I certainly enjoy the beach scene and touristy stuff that Rio had to offer but glad I was able to knock off my bucket list. Not sure where my next stop will be but heard great things about Sao Paulo which I am looking into now.

This is my first report. I am reading your reports for a long time and its time that I do my part to.

I am in Rio since close to 2 weeks and l have to admit that I am not impressed at all. I know very little Portuguese but can communicate enough to get along.

4 x 4 is still closed and the termas I went (Centaurus and Monte Carlo) are basically rip off places with in my eyes very run down facilities. Sure there are stunners there but they charge you 3 times what a Carioca would pay. I don't like to negotiate to much but.

Mostly they stick to their price. The after taste of being ripped of turned me off.

What I find alot more interesting are the freelancers which you have to double check with gparena (a lot of fake or to good to be true postings even in high end escort sites) but there I found some real good providers for around 250-300 rs. I even had 2 overnighters for 700 RS. I liked very much Terma 502 which is not a Terma. There are basically only locals and there are some stunners if you go on Thursday's and Friday's. I basically took them for a session (250 RS) and took their numbers afterwards. Mostly met them and friends of them private afterwards which was much more GFE than I was getting in any place I went.

I didn't went to Villa Mimosa because I don't think its safe enough for me.

Will be here for another week and then will go to SP for 1 Week. I think SP is more my cup of tea (Boates) but we will see.

One more thing. If you are into more Secure places and high end escorts, stay in Barra Tijuca. There are loads of them there with nice beach clubs and in my eyes a way better beach.

I have been in Rio during Carnaval many times. My recommendation is always the same. Taking in the Samba Schools in The Sambadrome Marqus de Sapuca is worth the trip, but, do it on the Saturday after Carnaval. The Champion's Parade.

I have been in Rio during Carnaval many times. My recommendation once you've experienced it once is always the same: go out to your weekend home in Terezopolis of Novo Friburgo for the week. Bring a favorite girl or three with you and enjoy your own Carnaval party.

From a Mongering perspective Rio was the center of the universe (with WGs all over Brazil descending on Rio) during Carnival. I'm not sure that is the case anymore, others on the Board / Forum may be able to contribute more on that aspect.

Back when Help was open and Ho beach was the place to go you could sit on Ho beach and see them arriving in droves up to several weeks before carnival. They would come on the beach with their clothes on and luggage in hand. In order for these girls to pay for the trip you would see them in Help selling bucetta, it was the best of times, many of these girls weren't even GDP's back home but needed the money for their holiday. Carnival is less than 2 weeks away now and you don't see any influx like this today, if they did where would they go as freelancers to make money? I say you got to go at least once in a lifetime. Carnival parade in the Sambadrome is a spectacle and should be experienced. Seeing it on TV doesn't do it justice it must be seen.

Now whether you go during Carnival or go to the Champions Parade (as per Exec Talent) that is your decision. Also, people go to see the Samba School practices prior to the Sambadrome parade. The bloc parties are numerous and loud. I have known some to say they like them but those tend to go with a local friend who can give them insight into uniqueness of each party. Even while eating at restaurants along Av. Atlntica some of bloc party parades pass through.

You can buy tickets to the Samba School Practices tours which I did one year through my hotel. Another year, I had a special friend who happened to work at a termas and who was a Samba School Queen (the girls you see on the floats and dancing). She got me in a couple times to see their practices. Those of you who were lucky enough to see her dance in the termas, probably know which girl.

The bloc parties depend on you. Yes, there is a historical cultural element but there also is an excuse to get really drunk (and for women, easy) element. I happen to like my women sober and cognizant. If you ever were even in high school band, the monotonous beating on anything will get to you after awhile. Unless you are drunk, I guess. If you were a professional musician, it can be torture. Unless you are drunk, I guess.

Note: Prices are higher during Rio Carnival (Friday through Tuesday), Businesses, Stores / malls, and Banks reduce hours or close all together during. ATM may reduce withdrawal limits.

I am not a big fan of bloc parties and if you spend months at a time in Rio, you would understand why. They start well before Carnaval and the music gets monotonous. Missing those to me is a good thing. The girls from throughout Brazil who come for Carnaval sometimes leave immediately after, but some do stay over a few days. If you arrive on Thursday, you should still catch them.

As for cost, you will save a lot. Most rentals are for 5, 7 or 10 days which people do not use. Those renting to tourist can then double-dip and re-rent which means lower post Carnaval rates can be even lower. Especially with the lower demand and greater supply. Same for Champion Parade tickets. Same for the girls since most of the tourist have gone.

So, is it worth it visiting Rio during Carnaval? Yes. However, it is my opinion that you won't miss much of interest other than the crowds and high prices by coming immediately after it is officially over.

Otherwise known as 13, I stopped by yesterday at 5 pm, place was in full swing. The place has the good the bad and the ugly and a few nice ones that are doable. A nice sized bar, beer large can 10 reais, 30 minutes with a girl 100 reais and 40 minutes 110 reais. I chose a really petite thin morena, my man boobs were bigger than hers LOL, I'm not a boob man.
