There has always been a small crowd of quasi mulhers in copa. If you ask any of the long term sex workers in Copa they will tell you tales about clients who like to have threesomes with them. There has always been a market for them but not usually in the bar scene with the exception of the few who used to work help.

It sounds like we agree that it has not been heavy in Copacabana in the past. Of course there is a market, but mostly in Gloria from my experience. But maybe that is changing. Maybe they have overrun Balcony. I've gotta go check that out. That would be a sight to see.

This will probably start an argument, but I wonder if the story of the monger fooled by the TV is an urban legend. I have beenhearing the story for years and it is always a friend of a friend. The other thing to consider is that the TV probably wants no surprises. That could be dangerous.

I do not want to beat a dead horse here because the purpose of this board is clearly not to discuss ad nauseam TVs but I do want to offer a closing comment since I brought up the subject. First, I think 35% is a high estimate but there are a lot more in the area of Balcony than I remember. Previously most TVs were along Atlantica, NS Copacabana or near Barbarella. The ones I saw were in a group or alone. I did not see any guys talking with them. I too question if they really have a market.

As for the story I wrote about the guy and the TV it came firsthand from the guy himself. His apartment was next to mine and around 4:00 AM I heard a ruckus in the hallway and asked him about it the next day. He is a big guy, well built and although it was hard not to laugh as he recounted the incident, he told it straight. I do not think that there is any bragging rights in telling your friends how you go suckered in by a TV and then because "she" was so hot you thought about doing "her" anyway.

Let's move on now and talk about real women. I cannot tell if they were non-GDPs, semi-pros or pros but lately all around Rio the women seem to be getting much more assertive. In Centro yesterday a young attractive woman carrying a political banner walked by me smiled and said lindo. On the metro another women smiled at me several times. Also on the metro I met a girl who told me she worked at Erotica and walked with me to NS before I had to go.

My point is that just being out and about offers some opportunities. And for those who do not spend much time in Rio, a smile is significant since most women are used to being hit on by Brazilians non-stop and unless they are interested, do not offer the slightest bit of encouragement.

With all due respect, in my opinion, discussion of the clients at monger bars is pretty important so let's not close that door until the place has been reported on a few more times. Both of us doubt the 35% figure, but that is fair game to discuss. As far as I know, the main area for these types is over in Gloria and I have never seen them in these numbers as reported in Copacabana. But maybe I have just missed it or things have changed. It would be good to know which.

As far as the truth of the story of the mistaken transvestite, I don't know for a fact. I only know what has been written. Again with all due respect, I have been hearing this story in different forms for 25 years. That does not mean the guy didn't tell you that or that it doesn't happen. For me, it remains as before: second hand. I personally have been approached by TVs in at least two countries and they have always let me know clearly what the deal was.

Anyway, no offense meant, just searching for truth and light, err, and the dark as well.

With Help closed, everyone is asking where the action is. But as many already know, there are dozens of little casas all over the place, often in those office buildings all through Copacabana.

Unfortunately, they can be hard to find, but often when walking on Atlantica you'll encounter a tout who will offer to show you the places. While I usually recommend avoiding touts, it may be worth it to throw some Reals his way, as he'll talk you to places you didn't know existed, and where the girls are WAAAAY cheaper than the old Help girls.

Just a quick update on this seldom mentioned gem right at ground zero in Copacabana. It would appeal to those who like the mid to low end of the pay scale. Prices from 55 for 20 min to 125 for an hour.

There were 5 or 6 girls at 7:30, at least 3 in the running. I settled on a spectacular, if Bohemian, Minera who is all of 22. Cafe con leche, long curly hair and curvy figure. Great attitude and a simple beauty that can help with ones perspective when confronted by lesser but more produced Sirens.

This place is sort of an upscale BA85 type of place but only the one bar. So it is small. The cabinas are the partition style but clean, or relatively so. I was offered a shower. Better than BA85 not as good as day time casas like Bel Prazer.

Total damage 65 for 30 minutes with a goddess plus 4 for a beer. No entrada. At the corner of Toneleros and Siquiera Campos. 10 to10 Mon. to Sat.

I personally don't care what two adults do either. But when I'm on vacation I have the right to decide where I want to hang out. I'm not into the trannie scene so if I'm told that they're 35% of a particular place I'll pass on that place. Would you go to a terma that was 35% trannie? I sure wouldn't.

I think Bubba and BS were just trying to give some kindly advice for your safety and well-being. Obviously avoid places where you might see people you'd find offensive. The board does not tolerate TV/TS and you can express your feelings openly. But be aware that in Brasil it would be imprudent to be so vocal of course. TS people extend from scary streetwalkers to leading celebrities. Remember in the old days some people used to find 'black men' disgusting? Most countries are now intolerant of racism thank goodness. But Brasil is not intolerant of gender preference. If need be, just be sure you explain you 'only like women!'

I sleep at nights, so I would not even know where to go.

I could not get myself to go to the new nightclub were "Quebramar" used to be, in the beginning of Barra. I mean RIGHT at the beginning of the beach, it ends there. If the taxi does not turn the curve, it will crash into it. One block away from termas Praia 400 (?), the "casa Amarela", yellow house.


Ask taxi for old Quebramar bar, he will find it.

Looks like the new Help. Expensive girls .............

There is also Paris Cafe. Far away in Recreio. And Praça Mauá nightclubs, plus the Copacabana strip clubs.

Now there are plenty of agencies, massage parlors, brothels that open during the day. Enough to get you tired for a good night's sleep.

Problems of Trannies:
you might mistaken them among all these muscled girls. As another poster mentioned, they are prettier then most ugly Balcony riffraff

Most guys here really get turned off by seeing them. And lots of girls might get scared off. After all, they are men, strong, intimidating.
