Casarão is in São Paulo, but as you wrote in the Rio thread the best (and almost only) option for mongering in Rio on a holiday is Vila Mimosa. Personally I wouldn't care to travel to Brazil and visit Rio, São Paulo and a beach city on such a short holiday.

I got the stink eye recently by some American old bag feminazi types whilst canoodling with my 20 year old. My gift to the board is this amazing club for Gringos, (especially if you are Black).

It's called the Bosque Bar in Gavea, I think it's right next to the Jockey club. I went 3 times during my trip, I brought sand to the beach once and got numbers on the subsequent two times when I went alone. The place is really nice, a little high on the entrance fee (125 R). They have a great indoor / outdoor feel to it and fantastic music for dancing all night long. The place was 3-1 women to men, and the crowd is early 20's- to 40's age range. The best part? It is packed with "Patricinhas! Thats the part where if you are Black, you should do very well as long as you have confidence.

The 2nd time I went, I saw a group of about 5 mid 20's American black men, who were just standing around and people watching. I could tell from their demeanor and clothing that they had some game but what they lacked was the confidence to walk up to a stranger without knowing whether she spoke English. They ended up leaving after 40 minutes looking dejected because none of them danced or spoke to the females. Little did they know that all they had to do was start a conversation and they would have had a ball.

I work with a few Brasilian women on Wall Street and they shared this common expression to me on interracial dating. "All Brazilian women have a basic black dress in their closet!" Which pretty much translates into, "All brasilian women, have a black lover that the family and friends do not know about". To me Ilha Grande is better. Don't know if you plan on going in the winter or waiting until the summer. Does your tour start in Rio or the locations mentioned? 14 hours I assume Rio.

I have a hotel in Rio for 4 nights. Sept 9- 12th. A lot of last minute loose ends. Idea is offer to bring one of the garotas to Buzios, stay overnight and extend my Rio trip a day or 2. I do not have a guaranteed date so if I do it alone no worries. Maybe I'll go Ilha Grande instead and do it in one day. Seems like a dream vacay and both destinations would be terrific to visit. Only made flight plans for 2 weeks in / out of Sao Paulo. (8 nights total there) take quick hop to Rio but I can see it will be difficult not to extend or ever want to leave. It's my first trip to Brazil guys. If it's meant to be. So be it. LOL Colombia is / was my playground. You only live once (they say).
