First of all thank you to all the contributors to this page and for the page itself. I visited Rio two weeks ago and I have some perspectives to share.

I have to say that I found myself surprised at how safe I felt in Rio. I stayed in Copacabana and walked the streets past 2 am on a few occasions as well as walked around Centro. By the way it is really easy to get turned around in Centro even using Google maps navigation. I was approached on many occasions with people speaking Portuguese and I think one Russian. It seems to be a very multi-ethnic city where even this Irish-Englishman looked like he was a Carioca. While there are many homeless in Copacabana I did not see any crime or police action. The homeless were all sleeping at 2 am.

My mongering approach was to try each of the easily available options: Termas, Massagems and online ads.

Sunday. I arrived on a Sunday and so I went to the Hippie Faire in Ipanema after checking in. Interesting, but I was just checking things out and had no intention of buying anything. I was thinking of trying a online advertisement but I was a little confused about WhatsApp. I didn't realize until later that I could use my US phone number (thank you T-Mobile! And I was told that the TIM store wouldn't be open until Monday. So, as expected Sunday was a quiet one.

Monday. I scheduled the tourist thing. Sugarloaf, Christ Redeemer, steakhouse lunch and the steps tour. Don't stress yourself out. I'm heading to Brazil in a few weeks, and I talk to a Expat that lives out there. Its a buyer market. The economy is so shitty that, you can always negotiate down. Yes it may not be 4 to 1 but you will still have a good time.

On a currency tip. The reason the Brazil Real is getting strong is outsider investors and wall street are hoping Bolsanerio privatize everything in Brazil and elimate government spending. Lets see how that works. With no safety net, such as pensions and cutting police salary.

Police are just going to be more corrupt In the future look for Brazil to be more dangerous and out of control.

(I begged her to take the cash because I knew she would get a better rate at the cambios but she wasnt having it).

6) she ended up getting 3. 75 R at her bank so basically I was fucked out of about 3600 reais! Trust me when I say I was angry as hell that there was nothing I could do about it. It is very frustrating when I think about all the fun I could have had in Rio with the extra 1000 dollars in my pocket, that is a lot of fucking and partying that got pissed away in the rain!!

Looking back at this discussion of approaching non-pros, keep in mind Brazilian girls generally like flirtation. The problem is many of you have no game at all. If you have no game back home, you likely don't have any game in Brazil. I'm not saying you have to be young and handsome. On average they'll probably speak 2-3 different languages.

Yes women like that are what we consider upper class Brazilians. Of course they are not crazy to hook up with a gringo.
