Arrival at GIG airport:

Use the app to find the Uber pickup spot. It has pictures of the 5 minute walk from the airport to the pickup area. Basically, from the international arrival area, you go to the area marked "domestic arrivals" and then exit the building and turn left. You walk along the sidewalk towards the "administration" building and you will see a walkway with a big Uber arched sign over the walkway with different "colored" areas for pickup. I went to the "orange" area and requested a ride. Cost from GIG to Copacabana was 70 reals or $14 US. There were clusters of ATMs on the arrival floor and also up the stairs. Literally none of the ATMs would work with one of my cards. Thankfully, I had a backup card that worked fine.

Have I been overpaying?

I think it is difficult to determine with so little information provided. Based on my observation, those numbers are within range of Sao Paulo today. They would be high a couple of years ago. There are girls quoting more and would not back down so I think there are men paying.

The following are real events but the numbers are made up. I had a girl told me she has been given 500 or 1000. Assume everything is equal, I think the one who paid 1000 is overpaying.

I also had a girl told me something similar, but she said it depended on what they did together. I can't tell in this case. This girl started at 1000. She has a regular job at a bank. I assume she charged more because she already had a good job and this number is the number that she thought was worthwhile. She has only went out with two men the whole year. This I do not consider I am overpaying.

There was one girl who was new. She sent me her professional social media account with her real name and number on it. I told her 500. She told me she was thinking about 1000. This one I do not consider 1000 is overpay. This one ask for more because she already have a well paying professional job.

When I arrive at a new city, I can get a feel based on the price I have been quoted. One time, I told a girl 500 and was quickly accepted. Although low but I suspected that I overpaid. The next one I offered 400 instead and was accepted quickly as well. But we negotiated the price back up to 500 again because I asked for things like condom.

1. Prives in centro. What time of day did you start and when did you exit Centro? I ask both for quality of girls and getting out of an area that turns sketchy at night. Was Uber the reliable form of transport to and from the JW for this?

I spent all of my mongering time in Copacabana, hence the title of my report. I have nothing firsthand to say about Centro prives, but I did spend time in Centro for tourism and just wandering around. The simplest answer is that it seemed fine during daylight hours when I was there. No different than parts of NYC. Its not a war zone. I used Uber pretty much everywhere. It was cheap and easy. If you have a longer wait, then pony up for the better Uber category and youll get a car immediately.

2. Judging from the boredom comment about Monte Carlo, I assume using google translate with girls got old quickly in terms of establishing a rapport? Personally if I can't establish at least some sort of rapport with a girl I pass. Nothing fucking worse than a girl going through the motions and mechanical. I'd prefer to sit at hotel and have a drink and listen to music than endure that bullshit.

Yes, I would agree. Rapport is key. English is not widely spoken among the working girls in Rio. I used Google translate extensively. The vibe in Monte Carlo was just weird. Not conducive to a fun conversation. I would encourage you to go. I think it is worth the time and money for one visit, but I wouldnt plan your trip around it. The facilities are just meager and the vibe is weird. Unlike the German FKK clubs, I would rather go to the pool at the hotel than hang out at Monte Carlo for an extended time.

Beautiful parks, museums, street art, old churches, world class restaurants, I mean, you can't compare it to Rio, but SP can totally stand on it's own, at least for a few days or a week.
