In the spirit of O'Brien's "The Things They Carried," here is what I carried today, on my bus ride to Duque de Caixis and back to Barra.

SOG seal trident knife to cut replacement strap to repair crocs.

5-11 pants black.

5-11 belt.

And1 boxer briefs.

Local wallet in Brazilian camo.

Local currency less than 100 r.

3 used surf wallets decoys or real $ bank cards.

Carabiners (2).

Motor cycle gloves (ave Riachuelo at av mem de SA).

Lululemon metalvent polo.

Vasco mask.

Do you carry this all in one bag pack? Why? Does it not attract attention?

Stopped in at solarium sessioned one of my top 3 hottest girls ever. Long black hair that went clear between her cheeks. Face was an 8 body 11 so I would give her a 9.5. I am getting 3 full days, a phone number of a pretty definite nonpro and a 3 way with spinner and her friend. Looking forward to Barra. The girls seem more eager and interested here. I got a lot of looks at the mall. Heading to Paris Cafe and solarium tomorrow after I pick up my motorcycle rental and do some cruising up the coast and down the jungle roads. I can count on 10 hands how many have been assaulted on their motorcycles. This does not include acquaintances with similar stories. I have rented cars around the world, but never once in Brazil. A motorcycle is completely out of the question for me. The more people around you with nothing to lose, the greater the chance you will lose.

Sounds great, am coming to Rio in 2.5 weeks myself after reading through posts here (will be second time for me). Is your airbnb in Barra in Transamerica or a different location? If different. Any issue with having girls come up?

Yes, all came to copa. I paid uber a few times. But never had an issue. Although think most girls lived in Copa or Ipanema.

What's up fellas. Arrived Sat afternoon around 11 am. Arrived to Pestana. Booked the ocean front room that at Riobob suggested. And the view is definitely worth it.

Saturday after exchanging money. Hitting the pharmacy for Xans and viagra hit some beach bars until 5 pm.

1st stop. Monte carlo. TD with sexy 27 yo Laura.

Amazing body and great sex. A+.

Got some grub and showered and then headed to Solarium. Nice layout good music. TD with beautiful slim Venezuelan lady. Again another +.

Back to hotel by 11. Jet lag set in.

Sunday. Beach day. And day drinking at different beach bars. Stopped at mabs around 9 pm and not 1 lady. Finished the day just getting a freelancer from barravip.

Monday. Went to christo redeemer. Amazing. Breath-taking worth the 15 bucks.

Then went to centro to look for prives and we struck out. Couldn't find 1 that was open. Used the Google map that someone posted on here.

So went back to copa area. Headed to copa 583 10 ladies some pretty. But I am picky. So went to eden in same building, was told they don't offer sex haha. Little embarrassing. Then headed to a 3rd room in that building forgot name. But about 6 girls. I passed, but buddy scored a hot lady. I used whatsapp and hooked up with another barravip lady.

5 pm took uber to centro. Went to terma 65 nothing in there we liked, went to terma New York. Again nothing. Then went to terma aquaris? But didn't exist.

So now it's 7 pm in uber heading to Centaurus.

Learning a lot. Still wish I knew more info on prives and office buildings.

But 2 full days in and having a blast!

This post will not be as informative, centaurus brought an interesting turn of events. Chose a spinner at the end of the session she asked for my whatsapp, ended up hooking up all day Sunday and Monday. Went to christ the redeemer. No lines no waits which was great. She didn't ask for money but I gave her $200 and bought her a nice dress which she loved and wore the whole time. Heading to termas solarium or whatever it's called tonight. Then back with spinner tomorrow unless a hotter chick at solarium does the same. Tomorrow is move to Barra. All the hottest girls at termas have said they live in Barra. Will hit Paris Cafe wed. Or tomorrow if I decide my spinner isn't worth being tied down for anymore. While almost free is nice, I am here to sample as much as possible in a short time.

Yale economist Stephen Roach has been predicting imminent collapse of the US dollar for at least 15 years. His latest is on offer at the FT. Apologies for paywall. He may be right this time, but right like a stopped clock and not due to any kind of theoretical validity or rigor to his analysis. Among other things, this piece lacks any kind of causal explanation for how a drop in the net savings rate in the US as a percentage of GDP (which is not that big a drop, actually, despite his alarm) somehow translates to a US dollar crash. He also conflates private sector savings with federal governmental savings without acknowledging how one offsets the other (governmental dissavings is, by definition, spent into the private economy). And to talk of dollar crashes without referencing the USD-based oil market and military control of the Straits of Malacca and Hormuz is to miss the point of where our "exorbitant privilege" comes from.

The strength of the USD comes from the US Navy (eichengreen, "exorbitant privilege".

Mab's usually does not get going until much later at least 11 PM+ at best. Sunday-Wednesday can be pretty weak just depends, Thursday-Saturday better. Generally it's a tossup I only go after midnight after all else has failed.

I brought Monique back today to Meier, and on the uber ride back to Metro Sans Pena, I dropped into Ann Massagen.

I paid Monique 400 r for two pernoites. I also pick up nice food and drinks (250 r) at the restaurant at p6 barra (the one at P7 is better).

Cost is 130 r for 1 h, 90 r for half hour, and 10 r discount for cash.

Those are good prices.

I did the appresentacao (go ahead correct my spelling), and there were 6 girls, ranging from 4 to 8.

The top one was a loira.

I asked if there were any negra negra negra ninfetas, and the answer was no.

I went and got a acerola juice at the corner restaurant where so many of us have dined after the walk down to Annes and the other prive which is not open (the one at 340 street address).

On the walk down to anne's I did go by the street market, and picked up a half KG of salmon at a good price.

I took the metro back to jardim oceanico, and caught an uber back to Transamerica.

Bad uber karma? Three times in a row a car with the same last two digits as the designated placa, and then two times again, on the third canceled uber of the very short trip.

I need to find a new room in Transamerica.

The spring is bringing longer days and the holidays soon, and supply and demand appear to be squeezing me. Wish me luck.

The thesis is there will be some volatility during the US elections, followed in the short term by weakening of the USD. When vaccines become widely available and normalcy comes back expect the real to weaken. As for inflation in the country it acts as a tax on middle class. Lower real is good for the exporting country to meet its budget demands as always. The only way forward is to support the rich and then convince them to share their wealth one way or another, and only in this particular order. The alternative is a socialist chaos, which by the way is not good for this p4 p hobby.

One way or another? Poor people are more generous than rich people. The issue is to get the rich to establish employment generating businesses to provide work for the poor. Regarding the alternative, the Nordic style socialism seems to have been more damaging to our hobby than the Cuban variety. No one goes to Scandinavia to monger.
