Six months from now will put you into the Holiday season especially New Years eve which is a big event in Rio. So yes this is to be as expected. Try a month later prices are a little bit better but they fluctuate also.

Not to mention airlines said they're increasing ticket prices since cost of fuel has surged over the past months.

Trying to book a flight from Houston to Rio 6 months out. Flights are $2000.00 and up. WTF! Anyone know why the flights are so damn expensive?

However, bars are tricky because if it is a regular bar women are usually there with their male friends or with girlfriends. If they are with their girlfriends they do not want to be seen as a GDP. And, because of the overall environment, this is not a comfortable place for GDPs and they may be told by management and patrons to take their business elsewhere. It is an interesting dynamic. Brief breakdown of the activities. Met a freelancer out at the bars. Chick asked for R400. I said WHAT? I spoke in portuguese and said 'It's not my first trip to Brazil'. It is my first time in Rio .....

Afterwards, they demanded for the payment saying that they needed to paid upfront given their bad experiences of customers not wanting to pay after the deed. I thought this was fair and handed 600 R over to the first girl but this was the beginning of the trouble. The other girl said I needed to pay her 600 R as well that the deal was 600 R for each lady. I laughed at her and told her to stop it if it was a joke. She started raising her voice at this point saying she needed to be paid her money and the second girl supported her on this claim. I told them there isn't any problem that they should just give me back my 600 R and they can leave since we haven't done anything. This was where the shit got interesting. The First girl said the 600 R was for the time she had spent with me since leaving the club which had not been more than 30 minutes at this point and did not include any sex, and she could not give me the money back.
