Over many years, multiple times per year and for stays extending over months I have visited Brazil, particularly Rio. One thing I have noticed are guys who live there with negative attitudes (you can see it in their posts here) or guys who visit and look at Brazil and its people as third-world (again, see their posts).

Brazil has problems and some of them can be very frustrating and cause you to shake your head, but if your objective is to meet women (the stated purpose of this forum) it is best done by checking your attitudes at immigration. Treat people with respect and greet them with a smile. A lot of guys I see might as well be wearing hoodies and t-shirts that say we don't give a shit about you, we are just here to have sex with your women.

Doormen, elevator guys, waiters and taxi drivers all can be great sources of information and helpful if treated like they matter. Actually, I try to treat people like this in general, except, of course, for the guys with the I own the world attitudes.

I give each doorman in the building I stay in in Copa 50 reais each when I arrive and tell them I'm happy they are still here.

I give them an aqua coco when I shop for 8/10 bottles at a time or a water etc. As a result, they would hook me up with football tickets, always know my first name, let anyone up I wanted no questions asked and in general be v helpful.

I do the same with the ladies who clean the terma rooms and who manage the time. This always pays off. To the sweet waitress, to the garcon who always hooks me up with good food quick, to my favorite kiosk.

Where ever someone tries, reward them. In Brazil people make peanuts so even a 10 or a 20 reais can help out.

I once foolishly agreed to bring a pair of nice boots for a patricinha I met online-they were 40 £ in UK and 15 times more in Rio.

She never bothered to collect them so I gave them to one of the homeless kids who sleeps next to my entrance and told him to go sell them in Ipanema. He made a nice profit and came runnin over to thank me next time I came back to Rio.

They always look out for you.

In Brazil you need as many friends as possible.

Give that GDP who put in crazy work and did great a nice tip to take home and shell work that bit harder to keep you as client-will let you get away with stuff the regular dudes can't. Fill in the blanks.

Good eye Sperto! Over the years, as I have walked by, in and around Rio Branco 156 and 185, 13 de Maio, etc, sometimes you see a cute garotinha walking or in the elevator and just wonder, hmm? Shout out to Sperto for providing so much information on prives. I have been going to Rio forever and never even knew that prives existed before Sperto's reports. I can't add to much to what he already posted but I do have a couple of tips of my own.

1) Do your homework!! Look at websites like forumx, gpguia, hotside. There are some terapia spots where guys are paying 250 R for just a HJ! Some spots the girls only do cbjs. Make sure you read as much as possible before you visit so you know what you are getting into.

2) Know your addresses of the plave you want to visit. I went to Rio branco and treze de Maio and shockingly I discovered that THERE ARE NO SIGNS on the doors! I want to disclose my identity, but in my country it takes 20 working days to get Brazil visa but due to Olympics or whatever reason in my case and other persons who applied in same period it even takes more than 2 months, as I had you. S and Schengen visa they gave me visa when I asked them to give my passport back I don't want to go so they give me visa next day. There was some problem with the embassy a lot of people were angry there because of delay. My original plan was to visit Argentina, Brazil and Colombia as part of my South America trip to cover airfare cost, but could not get visas in time, so come to Brazil for 7 days 3 in So Paulo one overnight bus to Rio and 3 days in Rio. Thanks for for your suggestions I write about tourist information after my visits.

You spent $2000 on a ticket to Brazil but then opted for an overnight bus from Sao Paulo to Rio? Last time my ticket was $34 and took 55 minutes.

With all the difficulty it took you to get the visa for Brazil why not stay a little longer?

1. Where you from, that it takes 2 months to get the Brazilian Visa? (For most of us here, it takes a week.).

2. So you spend $2000 USD on airfare, fly ALL the WAY to Rio, and JUST stay 2 days?! (I travel that far anywhere, I have to stay at least 10 days.).

3. You visit many countries, but do NOT stay more than 3 days. (Even if, you don't monger, you can post positive / negative experiences about your trip in the General threads. Hotel, restaurant recommendations, that sort of thing.). Best of luck Sir.

Here a a report on my first trip to Rio, this was only a five day trip will be going for a longer trip in October. A few rookie mistakes but I think did learn from them, thanks a lot from reading reports and guides from the veterans of the site thanks for the insights. First mistake was not properly booking my apartment for this trip first choice had gotten booked just before I decided to make the trip (spur of the moment) then a few others fell through so had to scramble for a place at the last minute not making that mistake again. I stayed in the Catete area near the metro Largo de Machado station area I find to be very safe and always to have people about until very late will be staying in the area again because first choice is not far from where I stayed. Learning the language is a must even if a few words can help. After reading the forums about the ATM card scams I decided to exchange only cash found rates to be within daily rates at the Cambios in the area 3. 60:1. I have found that it can be a bit difficult getting freelancers to come to your apartment be a few said that they only meet in a hotel or a motel maybe its because of their first time being contacted by me but they takes a very long time to reply on Whatsapp. A big thanks to Sperto for his reports especially on the prives in Centro it was a big help felt like I had already been to some of those places because of the accuracy of his reports, I can't remember the names of the places but one of the buildings I had to go down a winding walking corridor to get to the elevators that takes you to different floors. I chuckled because the building looked so modern outside but when you get the floors it looked like a blast from the past and also what was literally right besides some for the prives was administration offices or doctors and lawyers offices that took some getting used to. The second building was more like a mall setup and the offices was a bit better setup brighter and airy. I took some of Sperto's advice about taking the elevator to a higher floor then working my way down because I only took the day to experience what was being talked about here on the forum I didn't get the session with any girls at the Centro prive, prices ranged from are $100/30 mins to are $140-are $200/1 HR you had a lot of doable women at those places will go there when I return.
