Not sure, what taxes are you referring to w/r to "work tax free"? Wouldn't that be a tax function of your home residing country?

Also the visa is "...renewable for the same period if the applicant continues to meet eligibility criteria (including a clean criminal record)."

There is the issue.

1) Will the company you work for face tax issues if they allow you to work in Brazil for 1 year.

2) Will Brazil expect you to pay taxes on the money you are earning from your employer.

If you are 50, you shouldn't have too much problem picking up a mid 20 year old female for a relationship. I know a number of mid 30's brasilerias who had 60-70 year old boyfriends and husbands. For the women its more about security and financial stability then it is about your age.

I actually agree with VB's plan of action for getting girls IF you are staying long term in the city. I don't think it is a way for people who are visiting for a short amount of time. Now if they plan on coming back and forth, then they need to decide what works for them.
