I just checked, I ordered Uber 30 times during my last trip in October-November and my ride was canceled only once, when I tried to order Uber comfort. Uber black was never canceled.

I have found using Uber Black definitely cuts down on the ride cancellations / flakes.

Saw that is popular have tried to register, but am outside of Brazil, don't have a local phone number as use eSim's so can't do it seems.

We went yesterday to prives TDM33/2414 (two good negras, and this casa always has good negras), then to 2106 where there were 3 girls, and the madam, who Chocolatehunter knew. Then we went to darkroom, and got the presentation. Then we went to VM. This was 14 h - 18 h. We had good luck meeting girls, talking, getting numbers, buying some beers. We saw some of my regular pernoites, and I passed information with my wingman.

I did a overnight with a regular, 600 reais, plus I paid for dinner, uber, and frankly way too much shit. As the saying goes, show me a beautiful woman, and I will show you a guy who is sick -- or at least getting sick -- of fucking her.

That's why it is good to be in Rio as opposed to anywhere in America, it seems, like Milwaukee -- how is it going there, sports fans? The women are giving it back to the men on some weird woke theory of penis penance? Fuuuucccck that, to quote benjamin franklin.

Arrived in Rio yesterday from the United States. Plan to stay for a few months. I'm early 40's, black American (a mixed look), good Portuguese skills. Goal is to setup a rotation of girls I can call for TLN.

After landing, I checked into my AirBnB near Catete metro station then connected with Vagabundo around 18 h for some hunting. He's a great wingman full of valuable intel which he shares freely. It's a pleasure and honor to hunt with him.

His report from last night goes into the details. I'll confirm that we saw beautiful ladies at Vila Mimosa (VM), the Centro casas, and especially at Uruguiana 210. The girl Vagabundo talked to in 210 was super hot indeed. And a girl I talked to was 19 yrs, named Lorena. She said $r120 for 40 minutes. Then I asked about TLN and she said $r1000. The place was packed, probably 60/40 ratio of men to women. The popular casas we visited last night had a similar ratio.

Related but not exactly the same, is the problem that these effing Brazilians have no fkn money.

Yesterday, I did a 85 reais uber ride, and the driver did not even have 15 reais to make change for 100.

So I just gave the assh LE 100.

This is a trend.

I have this conversation almost every day when I am paying for stuff.

The broke ass Brazilian asks for exact change. Or a fucking 1 reais coin. I absolutely hate this bullshit. These people are broke, broke, broke, and have no money and are all in it together to steal, take, and basically fuck the gringo out of every last penny by not giving change.

I think the girl I was with actually got change of 15 reais on pix.

I mean, it is beyond annoying.

Usually drivers have to drive 2 miles to pick me up for less than $2 usd fare. I seen where a driver was 3 blocks away and didn't take my fare. Drivers being picky makes the app delayed. Some locals probably scared to take Uber (pandemic).

If you want to avoid the cancellations, order an Uber black. They won't cancel and aren't that much more expensive. In rare occasions they are even cheaper than the Uber X.

I think most of them use natural gas. What is the difference in them riding around burning fuel with nobody in the car and getting paid for a short distance? Or maybe it is some more of that Brazilian logic. I have a chick that drives Uber. I will just ask her.

She said the price of the trip went up, but how much the drivers get did not go up. She also mentioned the low price of some trips. I was like well why would they accept in the first place. She said Uber drivers are just that way.

They cancel the short trips because of the high gasoline prices and driving many kilometers to pick the passenger up before making a short trip is not profitable.

Do you think that the drivers are cancelling because they are getting longer trips (higher fares)? Have you asked any of them why this is happening?

Some Uber drivers will cancel because they can't go into the area you have as your destination. I had about 6 drivers call me on different occasions when I was going to Miguel Coto to verify that I was not headed to Belford Roxo because they said they could get hurt if they went to BR. Some drivers told me they would go to the SDU airport because they could get beat up by the taxi mafia.

I had some bad experiences with Uber on this trip. Several times the drivers have cancelled. I asked some drivers why this happens, and their explanation is like you said, they are getting longer trips with higher fares. Yesterday I had five Uber drivers cancelling my trip from Lapa to Copa. Probably because the Uber app was telling the drivers to get to my location by a backstreet that have a lot of strange looking characters hanging around.

They cancel the short trips because of the high gasoline prices and driving many kilometers to pick the passenger up before making a short trip is not profitable. They are also protesting against Uber with this, because they haven't raised the prices after the gasoline price hike. I talked about this with few taxi drivers and they were happy, because they are not working with so thin margins as the Uber drivers are.

Great advice! For whatever reason Uber drivers in Rio will cancel at the drop of a dime! I once went thru 5 drivers to go from centro to copa.

I've had the same experience. I just chalk it up to the general flakiness of Brazil or Latin America in general.

Regarding checking vaccination certificate. I'm surprised how few bars, restaurants etc that checks the certificate. We've been around lots of different restaurants and bars every night. What I can recall the only places in Rio that checked my certificate was Confeitaria Colombo and the ZOO in Boa Vista.
