Just writing this embarrassing post so someone else can learn from mistakes. Please, no flames.

Believe me, you are not the first and you will not be the last. It happens to the best of us - I know a LA cop (a person who should really know better) that had his pockets picked while several girls were rubbing on him. It is good that you made the post to remind people of what can happen.

I don't post very often, and the times I do it's usually in Shanghai or Beijing's thread, or occasionally Spain, but here's my first feedback from Rio.

Am in town for couple of days, so I set about my research through the week. Crikey there's a lot of info in here, waaay too much for me to have time to go through, but I figured with what I read I'd manage.

Staying in Barra, I headed off this afternoon up to Copacabana. Wanted to try a little Termas action. Found the Copacabana itself easily enough, was in and out in 5 minutes though. Ugh not impressed byt either the surly woman on the door or the two girls inside. Perhaps the reports I read on it were older than I thought.

Halloween theme going on today, so the 9 or 10 girls working (the doorwoman said 25 so I guess either 15 were fucking or her english is worse than my Portuguese. Rebecca (or whatever she was actually called) had asked me to meet her in The Balcony this evening, and if I hadn't had to go back to Barra I would've hung around the hour or so she said she'd be finished in, and happily had an evening out and seen what happened (and what it cost), but anyways, I couldn't be arsed getting a cab all the way back up to Copacabana.

So that's my tuppence. I'll be back for a few days in December, definitely going to hit The Balcony then and see what it's like, probably ring up Gabi, and I might go back to l'Uomo too. I did enjoy it there, but it isn't exactly cheap.

no flames, glad you didnt let them ruin your night. i had a bunch of trannys try to pick pocket me last year. i had left franks, walked up prado junior and was walking along atlantica when i saw them in front of me by the parked cars. a group of 5 of them started hooting and hollering at me, i just lowered my head and continued walking towards balcony. next thing i know, i hear the sound of heels clacking as all five of them started jogging towards me. i knew exactly what they were going to try and do , pickpocket me!

i stuck my hands in my two front pockets where i had my money and my phone. they ran up on me, started touching my chest and shoulders, one tried to stand in front of me and back his ass into my crotch in order to slow down my walking speed. i faked left and went right and moved right around him. i then told them in portugese "i know what you are doing! get the fuck away from me, you are not getting my money!" they were not violent or aggresive, they were just trying to grab my attention while went thru my pockets!

I was in Club Florida this week, everyone was smoking like it was their last cig. The only other place that I have seen allow smoking so out in the open is T81. Apart from that, most places have been very good in enforcing the law which is fantastic in my book.

I believe they enforce it because the fine is 7 x UPDF's. Which is about R$ 700 now. The enforcement officers aparently have been very good at enforcing it. They will just keep coming back and fining the establishment every night until they enforce no smoking. Nice to see some efficient policing of the laws in Brazil. In fact I was very suprised that Brazil has got this under control so quickly, didn't think it would happen.

Freaking idiots someone should take a lit cigarette and flick right in their face.

They got me for my cell phone. I was lucky that that's all they got me for. And it was a 3 year old Razr worth probably $40 and the TIM SIM card only had about R$25 left on it.

It happened with a few girls that were standing on the street across from Copacabana beach. They called me over, it was dark so I came through the middle of two cars to get closer to see them. One came from behind and the other from the front. They acted like they were feeling me up, which they did on my chest and shoulders for a while. Nothing strange or different from the normal "oooooh I want your body, Fuuuuk me" jesture, however, then they both went down into my pockets both front and back at the same time. I only have two hands and quickly pushed them off of me. They both stepped back and their 3 other friends and them quickly walked off, probably exchanging the phone with one of the girls who didn't touch me in case I searched them. Within 10 seconds, realized my phone was gone, but they had already split up and I knew that the girl who had the phone probably handed it off already.

I was pissed, but decided not to make a scene since it was such a small loss financially. My pride was hurt more than anything and I was pissed, but felt like for what it was worth, I have a lot more to lose than them. So I decided to go on with my night and make up for it with a nice lady. Which I found at balcony within 5 minutes and left without getting a drink.

Very cool! So, what's the verdict? Do you have a mini-TR to talk about number of girls, looks/quality, price range, ambiance, etc?

The ambiance is good, they have good cocktails, due it was raining and the place is new, there where no GDP there, only normal girls and couples. We have to check it later, it was very cold inside, the aircondition sucks.

What the offical word on smoking in termas? Is it allowed? Do they enforce non smoking rules when inconsiderate patrons ignore the rules.

Someone asked about smoking in the cabines as opposed to the boite. As of July, girls were smoking after sex in the cabines at Luomo, 4x4, Bar 22, Club Florida, and all of the apartments that I went to.

Club Florida was allowing smoking in the boite, but no ashtrays and everyone had to throw them on the floor. Anything goes at Florida, anyway. BA85 as well, in case you expected political correctness at that fine establishment, was still allowing smoking. Just don't do it on the stairs, so no one gets hurt...

Bar 22 allows smoking only at the top of the stairs, and don't move away from that little spot or mama will yell. I found it ironic that a straightout brothel selling me bareback pussy will all money paid to the house, then passing the cut of the money straight to the girl in front of everyone is so concerned about health and/or conformance with local ordinances..haha. There is no pretense about a room charge there.

Earlier this year I ran across a couple hot ceweks in Jakarta who did not smoke or drink like most WG's, I guess because of Islamic principles. They were horrible in bed and clearly not into the profession either. Since then, I prefer to screen for girls who do smoke and drink because I expect them to have fewer hangups. These ordinances make it difficult in Rio. Maybe after the Olympics things will be loosened up, I mean the laws, hopefully not the girls. Seems like Rio is selling part of its soul for the Olympics. Help, smoking, etc. Adopting the most easily achievable and most senseless values of other countries.

Absolutely agree. Part of the reason I'm putting Fortaleza back on my itinerary for the next trip is that trio of clubs.

Ibiza, Buzios and now Copacabana. Cafe del Mar looks nice.

I doubt that Café del Mar will be any kind of substitute for Help. I don't miss Help at all, but it would be nice with another GP-hangout in Copa.

Copa needs a Café del Mar just like the one in Fortaleza (and a Forró & Mamboo and Zipi Bar).

Besides what Edward M said I didn´t see anyone smoke any cigarettes in Centaurus when I was there in March. I was told that Solarium still allows smoking so I never went there. A couple of Brazilian guys ignored the non-smoking policy in 4x4, and they were just next to me so I asked them to put out their cigarettes. They were pretty drunk and didn´t care, they laughed and continued smoking. I moved on to another part of 4x4 and I don´t know how the staff would have dealt with this. I didn´t bother to tell them.

Thats futile asking a no good drunken bum to stop smoking lol. I will just have to talk to management if this happens to me. I know what your gonna say.

Nice to know someone else who recognizes them too : ) so did you have the pleasure of a session with the twins as well? I heard from Flavia who used to work in Monte Carlo (now in Centaurus, was with her on day 2 of my report) that one of them had married an Argentinian guy.

Had a bit of a thing for Palerma for a while, but it's the same old story, once you see them going up and down the stairs a few times. That's the down side of the terma setup. We all know the numbers, it's just a turn off when you get to see it first hand.
