speaking of l'uomo, there was a piece in revista magazine in the 9/9 sunday oglobo all about what is happening to the ex-termas l'uomo. it is being converted to an art gallery. there was a picture of the renovation going on. i tried to identify what part of the club the photo showed, but the place was gutted. i couldn't find it on line, maybe somebody else can find a link.

so, it is definitely gone for good.

wow i miss going to club help the year they closed (because there were talks going on for years about how they were trying to close the place) but it was a good thing that i was able to go to club help a year before they closed and it look like i made it to rio just in time this past march right before l'uomo closed its sad. i had some great times in that place i wonder were some of the stars of that place have gone to now ?

Correct, the US and Brasil reciprocity agreement on 10-year visas has been in place for over 2 years.

Try Starcris. Com and Newscort. Com. Used both my last trip with good results in August.

Thanks Carlos. Starcris worked fine although more expensive than Scortshow, as 'completo` is extra. BTW, Scortshow closed due to legal problems with in the residential building they were located in. Most likely will reopen once they make arrangements elsewhere.

FYI: I had to renew my Brazilian tourist visa recently. I was expecting the 5yr visa, but to my pleasant surprised I was issued a 10 year visa! (I didn't even know they had a 10 year visa.) This was from the Chicago consulate. Took 3 days to process and cost $160USD.
