    Uber at Santos Dumont

Santos Dumont is the domestic airport so this does not apply to most readers, except those coming from Sao Paulo perhaps.

In SDU you can get an outbound Uber by walking through the entire arrivals area to what is called the Bossa Nova Malll (also called Aero Mall), which is literally adjacent to the airport. Just there on the ground level is a designated Uber pick up area with Uber employees hovering around to help and all.

The high humidity must have messed my phone up because the screen was going crazy and at the end of the night it just stopped to work and didn't respond to touching.

The phone with all the important Whatsapp-contacts to the girls is just so precious and important that when the phone is breaking down it feels like a disaster. So I googled for phone repairs and got a few suggestions and one nearby, in Copacabana, Sigueira Campos. They said that they could fix the phone to the day after for 150 Reais but when checking for availability of the particular screen to my phone they said that they couldn't get it.

I was anyway going to Centro for a terma and saw a phone repair shop in Rua Buenos Aires, close to the Uruguaiana metro station. They only worked with Apple products but they recommended me to a repair shop just nearby. Just by that open space where Buenos Aires meets Uruguaiana there are these so called boxes with plenty of small stores inside and most of them seems to focus on cellphone repairs as well as computer repairs and I also saw repair shops for watches.

I got to the shop that was recommended to me and they said that they could fix my phone for 100 Reais and that it would take 40 minutes or up to 1 hour. One guy left the shop and in 5 minutes he was back with the screen to my phone and he started to work on it. He really took my phone apart completely and I could see him in action, working with my phone. And in 30 minutes he finished his job and I got my phone back in perfectly working condition. What a joy, to get the phone back with all the important information right there. Such a good service to be able to get a phone repair on the spot and for such a reasonable price as 100 Reais.

I mention all this because I think it can be valuable information for any other of you guys, if you will need to get a broken phone fixed fast and efficiently and to a good price. I was really impressed with how smooth the repair went, and how fast it was done. A phone with the contacts to the garotas is something very vital and even just one day without it feels like the sky just fell down on you. Google didn't help me much in pointing me in the right direction but what I discovered is that the repair shops inside the boxes in Uruguaiana is where to go for efficient phone repairs.
    Great info. Thanks!

    Taxis

Don't forget Taxis are double the price on weekends and holidays, so that trip to the airport will be double if its on the weekend.

To clarify, when I say "AFTER you leave customs" I mean when you exit the final doors to the general airport area, after having cleared customs and now, I think, walking thru Duty Free etc. There are still final doors before you exit into the main aiport. The taxi booth (Infocoop?) is usually right outside the doors once you enter the general airport. Rule of thumb is if they're charging more than BRL 75 or so, you're at the wrong booth.

New to site. Would love for some guidance

    Hey guys,

    I need your help.

I am going to be out in Rio from December 2- 11. It is my first time out here. I am a seasoned Monger and have been to many other Latin American and Asian countries. I was wondering if anyone can put me in the right direction of what places to go to and where to stay away from. I am also looking for a Chica guide to show me around town and drive me to multiple spots. If anyone has a list of mandatory spots to check out or a name and number to chica tour guide that would be greatly appreciated. I also like freelance bars such as help that is no longer around.

    Thanks again!

    Please PM me.

If it was a hard sell it was working. Hot girl. Morena. In the bar on the right in the 2nd alleyway.

So we went up. Full hour. And I had slipped her 20 a a tip for mad dance downstairs.

We come up and after 5 minutes of foreplay-no fucking! She's like. Times up! I'm like yeah ok-turn over. She's like. Nah times up.

I was like your clock must be runnin fast-we got 50 minutes left.

Arguing back and forth I was like. You stay there.

Another argument downstairs and half the money back.

The girl comes downstairs and starts throwin stuff. Only in VM.
My last two sessions in VM (one in May and one in October) started fine but turned to shit when the girl (in April) and the house (in October) cut the session short at 20 minutes. The house refused to do anything about it in the April session and the girl said she did not control the time in the October session. I complained to the house (the one opposite Blue House) about the time shorting in the October session but she said it was 30 minutes from the time she wrote on the paper (I knew it was 20 minutes because I showed the time to the girl when we went to the room). She also refused to give me back the change for the room because I needed to get it back from the girl for services not performed, not her (obviously the girl was not going to give it back), so finally left, out 25 real and 10 minutes of the session.

For those non-VM veterans who plan to go to VM, I think you should consider the following:

    1) Expect the girl or the house or both to try to cheat you on the time.

    2) Verify what time the house person writes as to when the room starts.

    3) Compare the time on your watch or phone to the time they wrote and tell them that you expect the time to be 30 minutes from the time you have, since the time they write will be ahead of yours.

    4) Show the girl the time you have and when you expect the session to end.

    5) Always get your change for the room charge before you go to the room. If the house won't give you the change, cancel the session and get your money back.

    6) Never agree to a package deal with the girl up front. Get her prices for what you want and tell her that you will pay her after the session for any of those extras that you actually did.

    7) If there is any reluctance to accept these conditions, leave because you will get cheated.

    8) Don't be surprised if you still get cheated.

At SDU, there is an "uber lounge" in the mall attached to SDU where you can wait for you uber to pick you up. But you have to walk from the airport over to the mall with your bags.
Ok, thanks for the clarification and the other info about Uber and taxis. So it is taxi that is the best way to go from the airport but at least Uber is the best choice when going there.

I know what you say about trying to talk to an Uber driver with a lousy connection and trying to understand in Portuguese and make oneself understood. It is simply terrible and won't work out at all (I tried it already).

She was tired. Similar thing happened to me in Luomo 9 years ago. Only poor session of that trip. Morena was pole dancing when I entered the terma. I watched her for about an hour and was turned on. Session with her after her performance was a total let down. I put it to fatigue.

I knew after a while that the cab driver was cheating me because he took the long way through Centro and Botafogo and the shortest way is through the tunnels and by the Lagoa to come directly to Cantagalo in Copacabana. But my Portuguese is too poor so I would have a hard time to make myself understood so I didn't say much. Besides, he was already on his way, the wrong (long) way.

So the answer to your question is that a taxi from Galeo to Copacabana will be something like 55 - 75 Reais. I haven't tried Uber from the airport but I will use an Uber when leaving from here going back to the airport. It will be considerably cheaper. I didn't know of Uber since I got here but I understand that a lot of people use Uber in Brazil and it is very cheap. I advice you to check it up and it is just to download to your phone and start using it.

Very early in the morning or late in the night you pay 45 -50 reais in the day with much traffic you pay 70 reais.

From the airport you can take the bus to Copacabana only 17 reais.
