If you rent a nice apartment on AirBnb in Rio or Sao Paolo or Brasilia, it will cost much less than in Colombia.

Rio is very expensive when it comes to short term housing. Especially during high season. And the quality of apartments suck. There is simply not enough inventory of new modern buildings, but there are plenty built in the 70's and 80's.

Bogota is the best city in terms of quality / value, you can rent a nice modern 1 bd or studio apartment in a safe neighborhood (Chapinero, Usaquen) for around $900-$1200 a month and it would be considered luxury property. Sao Paolo has a few options in the same price range. But in Rio something of comparable quality would cost around $2500/ month and up depending on dates. Medellin is about 20%-30% more expensive than Bogota, in terms of housing prices.

However, I can stay in any dunghill in the city and that's okay for me, because 99% of the time I will spend inside my home.

The cost of living for me is fucking, cooking, buying food in a supermarket near my home, watching TV, listening to music, dancing at home, singing, having fun at home and staying in bed most of the time. Why all this? Only because I would like to rest and have fun at home.
