Here a a report on my first trip to Rio, this was only a five day trip will be going for a longer trip in October. A few rookie mistakes but I think did learn from them, thanks a lot from reading reports and guides from the veterans of the site thanks for the insights. First mistake was not properly booking my apartment for this trip first choice had gotten booked just before I decided to make the trip (spur of the moment) then a few others fell through so had to scramble for a place at the last minute not making that mistake again. I stayed in the Catete area near the metro Largo de Machado station area I find to be very safe and always to have people about until very late will be staying in the area again because first choice is not far from where I stayed. Learning the language is a must even if a few words can help. After reading the forums about the ATM card scams I decided to exchange only cash found rates to be within daily rates at the Cambios in the area 3. 60:1. I have found that it can be a bit difficult getting freelancers to come to your apartment be a few said that they only meet in a hotel or a motel maybe its because of their first time being contacted by me but they takes a very long time to reply on Whatsapp. A big thanks to Sperto for his reports especially on the prives in Centro it was a big help felt like I had already been to some of those places because of the accuracy of his reports, I can't remember the names of the places but one of the buildings I had to go down a winding walking corridor to get to the elevators that takes you to different floors. The second building was more like a mall setup and the offices was a bit better setup brighter and airy. I took some of Sperto's advice about taking the elevator to a higher floor then working my way down because I only took the day to experience what was being talked about here on the forum I didn't get the session with any girls at the Centro prive, prices ranged from are $100/30 mins to are $140-are $200/1 HR you had a lot of doable women at those places will go there when I return. I didn't get to visit any of the termas this trip but would like to experience it, I did get to experience Vila Mimosa and it was something to see for yourself but smaller than I expected but had a fun time and felt safe while there session with two girls that night. I have moved to Ibis Copacabana posto 2 today, I am here for 2 days, than might not comeback to Brazil again because it take 2 months to get visa and 2000 usd for air ticket to visit Brazil, actually I am more of a tourist than monger visit different countries every time and do not stay more than 3 days, I did not get any sex in Morocco because could not find apartment and Sheraton Casablanca was dead when I visited, I have not visited Kiev or Chisinau yet will visit next month and could not get visa for Colombia so might visit next year, regarding FKK in Frankfurt I visited FKK Oase but don't write post because I don't remember the names of girls, and pricing everybody already knows. I have given my information on Budapest, Sofia and Bucharest, these are 3 places which I visited in 2015 , and Brazil is my first trip in 2016. So, I can only request you for info, as I might not come back to Brazil ever again in my life.

Mountain bike. I brought mine from home and leave it a friends apartment when I return back home. When traveling with British Airways the bike counts as the second luggage, no extra costs. I would never waste any money on a crappy Brazilian bike. My bike calls for a lot of attention, but I never had any problems. You just have to be cautious (bike thefts are common), as always in Brazil.

I bike a lot when I'm in Rio. I was looking forward to use the new Ciclovia Tim Maia, na avenida Niemeyer. A construction that cost R$45. The bike lane has great scenery and some parts of the bike lane is constructed just hanging over the cliffs. Yesterday 50 m of the bike lane collapsed down to the cliffs and into the ocean. Two people died. I can't say that I'm surprised. Hopefully the heads of some engineers will roll.

The problem wasn't the ground. The problem was that the bike lane wasn't secured enough to the columns. The wave lifted the bike lane so it fell down.

If securing a bike path was a challenge, what are people suppose to think about the new Metro routes to Leblon and Barra. Construction taking place under under time constraints. Scary. Hopefully, all turns out well with those tunnels located under the city streets, buildings, etc.
